McFarlane: DC Multiverse - This years releases

Mighty Ape is the largest pop culture retailer in New Zealand. We have recently come out of quarantine-like lockdown and they have started adding pre-orders to their listings, including DC Multiverse. I know that 70% of these have been leaked already, but the November releases were news to me.
https://www.mightyape.co.nz/attribut...-dc-multiverse

Releases with no solicitation pictures:
Earth-52 Batman
White Knight Batman
Arkham Knight Batman*
Infected Superman*
Batman Who Laughs Hawkman*
Earth-1 Batman
Arkham Origins Deathstroke*
Earth-44 Batman
Earth-32 Batman
White Knight Joker
The Grim Knight
White Knight Azrael
Robin Crow (BAF)*
Batman (BAF)?*

new leaks?

Please note that release dates for New Zealand are a lot different US release dates.

Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me.

Why the fuck is this god damn line called DC Multiverse? IT should be called Batman Dick Sucking Services!

yeah this is why i have invested in the mafex superman, batman original & black ver (x2), and catwoman. Hopefully mafex see's i want a comic range of dc figures, yes more pricey...I'm hoping mafex makes 5 more figures to make a JL team. Looks like Mcfarlane has been told or is choosing to do the bat-family only, I will wait for a digital con event to tell us hopefully something different

McFarlane just did an interview with Pixel Dan and armored Batman and Superman are his best sellers. So cool looking new take on popular characters. Superman doesn't have a wide range of cool looks, but Batman does so it seems like he is going all in on unique or rarely seen cool looking versions of Batman. He also seems to prefer ones that would look big, heavy, and good in plastic. I interpret that as armor looks bigger, bulkier, and more natural as opposed to guys in skin-tight spandex done in plastic.

He also said Batman who Laughs sold well so wouldn't be surprised to see other Dark Nights Metal characters which also seem more akin to his tastes.

I'm pretty sure 3 of the Batmen listed there are DKM figures, I kinda wanna see how the Earth 1 Batman looks though haha

Did Dan bother to ask him about other characters that aren't Batman related or did he play it safe as usual?

I really don't get Todd's big thing about Batman though. The dude is freaking collecting dust at every store I go to.

Most likely its DC mandating that the line be bat-centric. It's no different than how they've worked with other toy companies.

Comedian 05-08-2020 10:37 AM

Guys, other than a few of you and me, no one will buy a flash villain they never heard of. Our line was dc classics. Then retail would not support the C-D list characters. Answer....move it to Matty collector...and that worked for a while but guess what. Not enough of us wanted those obscure characters. Line cancelled.

The horse no longer resembles a horse, some of you have beat it so long.

If there were money in more DC characters, they would be made. Companies like money, they don’t want to loose money.

Even freaking spin masters is scared to go to deep. They don’t sell.

lol

Yeah, and people are totally pulling all of those Batmans off the shelves. Also, if no one wanted D-Listers, why can't I find Crossbones for Marvel Legends? In fact, Shang Chi and White Rabbit sold pretty well for being E listers.

Plus, Flash has a TV show everyone watches, so the only C and D list characters from Flash anymore are the ones that haven't appeared on the show or were featured for 30 seconds like The Mist and The Shade.

Hell, even Mattel dropped the fall on Flash characters.

Marvel is hot. Dc is not.

True, but the only one who can blame DC not being hot is DC themselves for being run by a bunch of incompetent dumbasses who wouldn't know their penises from their asses.
