These are actually kinda cool.

I would pay $18 plus the ridiculous shipping for reissues of the Playmates figures...but these do absolutely nothing for me.

April's card art, absolutely adorable.
Actual figure, her homely sister.

JerpJerp 07-09-2020 10:34 PM

She looks like a Fright Feature Ghostbuster. I'm afraid that jaw's about to pop open.

Damn, my girl April is having some hard luck lately. I still love the Ultimates head despite the many critiques.
But this...jeez Super7. It looks like a totally different face.

Oh! and I should say, the rest look rockin'! I've been trying to stay out of reactions but it is realllllly hard to resist right now. Damn......I have to think long and hard about this.

Items are in-stock as you mention early on, so it's not pre-ordering, as you mention later on.

Also the artwork of the cards always surpasses the final product. I don't really understand the appeal of these smaller figures. I don't mind the size, but they're all just ugly 70s Star Wars looking figures. Thank goodness Super7 has the 6" line that is much easier on the eyes.

If they cost $8 I'd consider them a lot less horrible. It's a nostalgia style I'd go for. Then again, most people who actually go for it, probably pay $18. If its $8, I bet there wouldn't be enough interested buyers to offset the price difference.
That style is so old now. The younger gens, like myself, for the most part, find that lack of articulation and form pretty unappealing.

Wasn't Mikey/Don/Foot Soldier/Shredder Wave 2?

At least 90% of what S7 is doing with these is for the card art. I understand the appeal a bit, and I do understand the price too somewhat. Even though there's only like 6-8 parts, they're pretty much all their own molds, besides the Turtles themselves, like all the Transformers are unique.

Can't compare to Hasbro Star Wars since they're in every store, and if you look at more super articulated lines like Vitruvian Hacks there's lots of re-used parts in every figure and they're $20-25.

Man that price is tough, but lord are these cool. I’d like to see some reaction vehicles for these and other lines.
