ML Retro Carded Dr. Doom Figure

Great for those that missed out on the one released at the beginning of the year.
|
I’m a sucker for all this retro packaging. I hope the team is coming as well.
|
Wait, so he has his first appearance neck shawl in addition to his cape? Was that a feature of some Toybiz Doom that I'm blanking on?
|
Apparently one of those books is the Darkhold.
|
That card design is fantastic.
|
An interesting thing people noted on Twitter - Doom has some kind of digital morse code added on his chest in post, each different depending on which retailer got the stock images. They're starting to crack down on leakers.
... Which in the grand scheme of things won’t help much as most leaks happen because factory workers get their hands on the figures and then post pictures. |

Fantastic Four
All these retro packaging Marvel Legends are bringing back so many memories. I had The Thing in trenchcoat and shades. Also had Johnny Storm, Wizard in this same packagin.
|
So I'm feeling like this is also a tease that we're getting a retro carded F4 wave.
|
Now I'm mad I got the previous version with I leg I don't want instead of these accessories. I haven't opened him yet, but he's probably past his target return window.
|
Hopefully this is a sign the other half of the Marvel Action Hour will be getting some love.

Doom was double packed too and the F4 wave was plentiful, so there were a lot of Dooms to go around. I think for all the high in demand double packed figs like him and Gambit and Nightcrawler, etc... Doom still goes for the most on the secondary market.
I like this packaging though... it makes it harder for repackers to steal stuff and then return the figure. |

^ Ah, for real? I was mostly going buy local scalper prices... like I can get Gambit and Nightcrawler for $15 locally at toy shows, but Doom is more expensive here.

Looks like Doom is the figure teased last week as being released with soft goods.
Hoping to see a fully transparent Sue Storm released on similar packaging. |

That said, I'll pick this one up too, especially for the accessories. I can never have too much Doom on my shelf. |
