Absolutely. Any time someone actually asks "who?" when I'm discussing him it almost feels like someone punched me. Usually if I describe some of his roles, they'll be like "oh yeah", but just the fact that he's not a household name for some is a tragedy.

The good news is that Shout does have the figure available to purchase separately. The occasion here is that They Live is being released in 4k UHD Blu-Ray format in the US. I already have the overseas 4k release from Studio Canal, so it is nice they're not limiting this figure to those who purchase a bundle.

The bad news is that the total comes out to $47 shipped, which is giving me pause. I'd like to see more images to get a better understanding of the likeness. I do want a Keith David action figure, but the pricetag is a bit steep.

Yeah, I'll wait til someone shrinks the head down to 7" scale, pop it on a CW Captain Cold body, and have a passable Childs from The Thing haha

I would have preferred a wider release for this, but even I will admit that a Keith David figure from They Live has limited appeal. Maybe a Shout Factory release of limited to 4000 units was the only way that NECA could make the numbers work financially?

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward getting this figure. It is likely the only way I'll own a Keith David figure anytime soon.

Less appeal than, say, a Chop Top figure? I doubt that. Yet a worthless character like Chop Top (no offence to Bill Moseley, but TCM2 sucks) gets a wide release and Keith David doesn't?

As with all Shout Factory exclusives made by NECA, Shout Factory wants them, orders them, and buys them from NECA. The price is set by Shout Factory.

Are you saying that this figure might not even have existed if Shout Factory didn't ask for it?
