I still have to ask, what is "Mythos" about General Kenobi? Isn't this all pretty much a canon interpretation of him?

Statue looks nice in general though.

I gotta ask a newbie question. Which co. has thee most detailed sculpts? Is it Sideshow or Artfx or another? Also which material best makes the most detail?

I think it's the cape and helmet, which are not part of his cartoon look.

I don't have any statues in my collection. Like, at all. Don't have the room or the budget to sustain a statue collection. Having said all that, I'm selling the devil my soul to get this bad boy.

lol, just wanted to say, you might want to hold off though for a few months. If you haven’t delved into the statue market, you might find yourself regretting it afterward, and this is a lot of money. There are also lot more affordable and smaller scale options. So don’t jump in.

I am not an expert, but I thought I'd share what I have found in my own experience and in following releases from other companies.

It really comes down to the scale. Also, do keep in mind that apart from sculpt, the paint job and engineering is also important. There are some companies that have excellent sculpts, but end up with a mediocre final product due to the bad paint job or bad engineering that leads to leaning or breakages. So you want to go for overall quality.

This Star Wars Mythos line by Sideshow, if I remember right, is in the 1/5 scale. If you are looking for Star Wars characters in this specific scale, there really aren't any alternatives. There aren't any even in the nearest 1/6 and 1/4 scale too.

However, if you are thinking more about the larger scale (1/5,1/4,1/3) and not particularly Star Wars licenese, the top 3 in my opinion are Prime1 Studios, XM Studios, and Sideshow. Prime1 does tend to be more focused on the 1/3 scale, with few pieces in the 1/4.

Sideshow is more focused on the 1/4 scale, with few in the 1/5 and 1/6 scales like this Mythos line. Both Prime1 and Sideshow pieces tend to be more static poses. XM Studios does seem to do some 1/6ths, but their main focus is the 1/4 scale and more dynamic poses. But, XM tends to be more expensive than Sideshow, while also offering more display options per piece compared to Sideshow (multiple heads, arms, weapons and even armour like in the case of their Batman).

I should also add, in the larger scale market, there are also studios that cater to specific licenses and do an amazing job. Folks like HMO collectibles or Tsume Art come to mind. If you have ever seen HMO Morrigan, it was absolutely amazing.

Personally, I would one day like to buy a single Prime1 1/3 scale statue of my favorite character. Ideally, I would love to get their Hush Huntress, but it is outside of my price range and also space range :D

Not a "BIG" SW Fan.....
However, this statue is really nice...

Not that Toyark isn't great, but this Sideshow Freaks Forum is mostly 1/6 scale and Statue discussion, link to the SW sub-forum: Star Wars-Statues, props, etc.

There's also a FB group that's pretty good called Rogue One Sixth, again all SW related, can ask opinions there.
