RazorCrest Haslab 2nd Thoughts
 

Hey guys.

So having serious Razor Crest 2nd thoughts. I dont want to get into full details why but.....

If you watched the newest Mandalorian(ep 14), you might know why.

You're not the first person I've heard with that sentiment. I didn't back it so I don't have anything invested in it- but I would be a little upset about it too if I had backed. BUT- I also think it's a temporary issue.

We backed the barge. It was in one movie for 10 minutes and then blew up.

The crest was in at least 14 episodes of a show.

Excellent point! You can go on as many off-screen adventures as you want with the vehicles too! You don't HAVE to be limited to what's on screen!

I was looking to see if anyone else had the same sentiment. I figured I could just repaint it if it comes down to it.

And it'll be a pain to get a replacement down the road rather than get a refund now.

I haven't seen today's episode, but I can only surmise what transpires based on the comment. I waited until the last few hours before I decided to back the HasLab project. My rationale was similar to what's already been mentioned about the Barge (i.e., the screen time argument). I've thoroughly enjoyed this little corner of the SW mythos, more so than any live action treatment since the OT, and the Razor Crest plays (has played) a significant part of it. In fact, it might have more "screen time" than most ships in the OT at this point, many of which I own at least one of. I don't have second thoughts.

Back to your original question. Ask for a refund. No way in hell is that piece of plastic worth $350. Hasbro should not be crowdfunding things like this especially in 2020. If they had any balls they’d release this at retail along with a boatload of other toys from the show to allow economies of scale and get the price down. Ask for your money back as we the fans should not have to guarantee maximum profits while eating all the productions costs at the front end.

If Slave 1 gets destroyed in a future episode I doubt people would stop liking Slave 1 enough to not buy it anymore... and Slave 1 is currently 150 dollars at Best Buy, so still kinda pricey.

IMO the Razor Crest will always be a part of Season 1 Mando... along with non Beskar armor Mando... so it will always have value.

Best Buy sold out yesterday on the Slave-I.

Luckily I got one using 25% off code.

So I just watched Season 2 of The Mandalorian and now I totally understand why there was a disturbance in the Force as if a million Haslab supporters were crying out in pain.

I think its a question of, is it appealing to you? regardless on where the show takes the razorcrest. Like people buy lego death stars regardless of it being turned into space dust becuase they like the look of it. I'd suggest wait for it to arrive, check it out, if you dont like it you can always sell it.

To be fair, the Lego Death Star does arrive to you in its blown up state, you just have to rebuild it yourself. :D

I still go with my above thoughts after seeing the episode. I spent $500 on a barge that had 10 minutes of screen time and then blew up. Though more iconic long-term, the sail barge is not current. The razor crest was in what 12 or more episodes and had a ton of screen time. Plus it’s shiny......shiny.

I think there might be a problem if Mando gets a new design ship in Season 3 or later... I notice a lot of people don't really like Season 1 Mando as much anymore now that Beskar Mando has become the default Mando. I bet the Razor Crest gets re-built in later seasons though... so it won't be in danger of becoming obsolete like the Season 1 Mando look.

Also I hope they make a 3.75" mini Razor Crest like how they made the 3.75" mini Slave 1 vehicle.

The razor crest will always have appeal. That was the ship Grogu was on. Not that season 3 looks to deal more with Mandalore, I can see a new ship for a new chapter in Dinn’s life.

I don’t see where hasbro would release a small scale razor crest. Now the 5POA is retired. I could see maybe the mission fleet series and long shot, galaxy of adventures 5 inch line or maybe Disney toy box.

The best idea would be to keep the retro collection a live sku and release vehicles for that line.

But with the only “live” 3.75” scale being vintage collection, we have a crest.

^ The thing about SW characters... especially live action SW characters... they are very rarely associated with more than one vehicle. Even though Luke also piloted a Snow Speeder... his vehicle will always be Red 5. IMO it would be weird if Mando had two different iconic vehicles.

Also... I forgot 5POA SW wasn't a thing anymore... I love that undersized Slave I that came in the Force Awakens Class II vehicles set... it's perfect IMO, just small, but 3.75" Boba fits inside so it's good enough for me. Really would have loved a Razor Crest just like it.

Totally agree on all points. Those smaller so-called vehicles would be perfect for the retro collection. I wish hasbro would run with those more. Imagine that slave one with a retro fett along side it.

Plus this would be a way to get more vehicles for all 3.75 inch so-called Star Wars lines.
