What does this mean for NECA?

Black Arbor 12-07-2020 09:34 AM

Huh... Cool for kids I guess but they don't look like they'll mix well with NECA's

Probably nothing. These will be a far lower price point.

snake5289 12-07-2020 11:04 AM

So will there be Predators the same size as the Aliens they made?

AWCramer 12-07-2020 01:26 PM

High res images gonna be put up at this link soon

thecorpsfanshq dot proboards dot com

In the Predator Collection section

I don't think this will be any competition for Neca. This will be similar to their Alien line which is cheaper and less detailed than Neca's products. This will definitely be more for children while Neca is more aimed at adult collectors. I think it is great to have more options on the shelves.

Straker 12-07-2020 04:15 PM

I actually kinda like these. They seem more like a spiritual continuation to the old Kenner line to me. I might get the City Hunter.

Stranger 12-07-2020 08:06 PM

Wow these make Neca's look like Hot Toys...

I agree. I would have LOVED these as a kid and probably could have convinced my parents to buy one at the lower price point.

Yeah hopefully they can keep the price point down. I really enjoyed lanards skull island Kong and the aliens line especially for the price

High res pics are up at The Corps Fans HQ boards. In the Predator Collection section. I can't post a link as I'm too new... lol

Unboxing and full assortment look later today.

Wheeljack 12-08-2020 11:13 AM

What's really awesome is that the guy making these is on the forums. :)

IzzyTipsy 12-08-2020 12:29 PM

I'm kind of shocked to see Predator and Alien figures for kids.

As a kid I know my parents never would have let me have them lol.

Look really cool, though.

I think they carry sort of an "Iconic Hollywood Movie Monster" status now that most kids of action figure age at least know who they are even if they've never watched the movies. Throw in the parents that grew up watching the movies and it just kind of all comes together- and of course there's the Alien history of being a kid's toy- Alien, Aliens. Predator.. Terminator... have all had kid's action figure lines.

Let's not forget that Robocop and Toxic Avenger also had toy lines, and at that time they were on the top end of gore without venturing into grindhouse or Italian zombie flicks.,...not to mention that they had Saturday morning cartoons..lol.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. If anything it could grow interest for the franchise amongst the younger generation. But looking at the review on youtube these are clearly toys that while look good are not comparable to NECA. I personally like realistic looking figures but these will be great for my son.

I want to address this one, There are 2 types of licenses, Master License and shared licenses.

A master license gives a single company dominion over a property

a shared license gives multiple companies specified rights that are unique to each sharing the license.

I f you liked the video at the top of this thread, I've added a few in hand product videos including unboxing and showing each Lanard Predator Collection Hunter Series out of package, for anyone who thinks these will just be a kids toy, These are going to be fun additions to any Predator Fans Collections. Thanks for looking, and Thank Lanard For Bringing The Fun!

Ah dangit! Must be a Proboards thing... I'll check the settings to see if I can disable that

Created a new thread with linked images. Apparently Proboards dont allow guests to download board attachments regardless of permissions.

Not to mention Police Academy and Toxic Avenger. Awfully jarring to see action figures for kids from R-rated movies, but some of those movies were easier to rework into family friendly versions. EX: Police Academy into a goofy animated series with it's own law enforcement hi-jinks.
