Waiting on the 7" figures, hope they're more interesting than the Origins line.

Masterverse? Same here.

Ethan Cody 02-10-2021 09:39 AM

I'm glad the Green Goddess is making it into the line. It's nice that the Lords Of Power versions are being released separately as well.

ShabbyBlue 02-10-2021 11:48 AM

Since they are clearly doing characters from the mini comics too, hopefully we eventually get Jungle He-Man to go with The Goddess.

I'm actually liking this line. I didn't at first and was a hater, but got a Masters of the WWE figure and was super impressed, then got Origins stuff and was even more happier and wowed. The price point is also perfect and these figures are a steal for the price. It's a nostalgia trip for sure. It's the same vintage figure with more articulation. I would like to see vintage TMNT go down the same route. As for not having any pictures we can get a pretty good idea by looking at the vintage stuff. I am also gonna get Masterverse. I didn't think I would have so much joy from getting them, but I sure am happy with them. Especially missing out on most of it as a kid.

Haven’t seen merman yet, but saw She-Ra and Panthor at my local target. Panthor look great. She-Ra I’m not sure WHAT she’s supposed to be. Her proportions are horrible. Even worse than I remember of the original 80’s toy.

I hope Mattel does a Funimation Origins or some other fix for She-Ra. Evillyn and Teela look fine, so I know Mattel CAN do a better sculpt.

Comedian 02-10-2021 04:39 PM

I don’t see some of these at BBTS yet. I hope some pics come soon.

I think her proportions are more aesthetically pleasing than either the vintage or Classics figures, personally.

The one I saw had no neck. Her head was directly on her shoulders. Her rib cage seemed directly connected to her hips. Was not impressed.

Still waiting for Masterverse 7 inch.

I tried this line with Skeletor and it had a trash build.

In all honesty man, just look at the vintage stuff. Its basically the same with more articulation. This was actually kind of funny :) and I'm 150% sure you already know that but sometimes we need a reminder. I don't think there was a vintage Goddess but there are lots of other renditions you can look at and just imagine Teela in light green or whatever color they use. Also we don't know what the Evil Lynn version 2 will look like

Comedian 02-11-2021 04:42 AM

The colors are my interest. I don’t really love how bright and loud the new figures look. I prefer the vintage colors. They were more earthy and showed details better. I keep hoping some origins figures are better in color. The price of vintage is out of my range right now so origins is it. So that is why I like to see what they look like before I preorder. To “rainbow bright” and I don’t want them.

IzzyTipsy 02-11-2021 02:30 PM

Just found She-Ra today, and grabbed her. Looks like she'll go fine with NECA toon April for my "80s toon ladies" display.

Amazed that BBTS has them for $15.99 when Target is charging $18.99, though.

The price of the vintage stuff is out of my range also. I like the colors so far. Hopefully we see some Masterverse stuff in a few weeks.

Comedian 02-11-2021 02:45 PM

One can hope Mattel shows them.

I sold what was not destroyed from masters collection in the late 80s to buy turtles. I regret it every day. I don’t have the space, money or time to invest in vintage. I did preorder the wave 5 on BBTS today, so if they don’t work for me I can cancel. I know so many love these colors and I’m happy for everyone, I just haven’t seen the light.....so to speak....on origins yet.

Boogieman4hire 02-11-2021 04:30 PM

I'm only cherry picking. So far all I've got is a BBTS preorder for Scareglow. And pending if he actually still has his action feature, I'll be getting a Stinkor.

She has a neck, you were thrown off likely by the headdress/mask.

Personally I think this is the first one in these retro MOTU lines that tried to invoke the spirit of her original 80's figure and got it right.

Target had them at $14.99 before.
