Unfortunately, it could still potentially be cancelled if some issue arises. Remember, they've shown off numerous figures in the past, and even opened up pre-orders for them, only to cancel them after an issue arose. Recent examples are the Toony Terrors NES Jason & Freddy, and the Jaws Chief Brody.

But I don't think they would show this one off without having all their ducks in a row. The licensing issues with this property were very problematic for the last few years. So I'm guessing they worked with everyone very closely to ensure no problems pop up.

Pray to every God you can think of that that's the case guys! This is my grail figure!

Same here. I literally teared up when it popped in my timeline. Something I had completely given up hope on.

This makes me want to go back and re-buy all the horror NECA's I sold since I didn't conside my collection complete without some Thing representation haha, that's how amazing this is for me

Bravo NECA! It’s been a long while since NECA unveiled a license that left me speechless. This is huge news! Keith David’s Childs character is a must! Now the only question is how they will tackle the creatures of this film.

I’m thinking a couple deluxe creatures like Norris-Thing and Palmer-Thing and maybe a creature pack with the Spider-Thing and the Dog-Thing would suffice.

Seeing people on Instagram and Twitter bag on the likeness, it's not Hot Toys level but I think it's fine? The unpainted heads really show off how good the sculpt is haha

Trevor Grove always shares unpainted head sculpts on social and it seems like the paint often lets the sculpts down. Unpainted, the likenesses are stellar. The recent Marty McFly figures are a great example.

That said, I think the likeness looks good but could be enhanced a little by better paint.
