S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan 4 Goku Teased
 

The official Tamashii Twitter account teased a new Dragonball Figuarts reveal for Sunday, May 9th. They only revealed one image so far, but that image alone might give it away. The picture showcases a screen cap from Dragonball GT, and features Earth in the sky of New Planet Plant.

It was this view of the planet that triggered Goku's first transformation into a Super Saiyan 4.

Fair audio warning for the video showcasing a part of said scene, it features Golden Great Ape screeching action ;)

Second teaser - it's something from GT alright. But given that it is "Goku Day" tomorrow (5 and 9 = "Go" and "Ku" in Japanese) it’s pretty much confirmed to be SSJ4 Goku I'd say.

apparently people who wanted him have been waiting six years. Finally!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice, looking good! Pre-orders go up Tuesday, May 11th in Japan so that's around the time he should go up everywhere else around the world too.

A few nice touches: The hair over his shoulders and the bigger tufts on his back are jointed so they don’t get in the way of the head articulation, and the shoulders have new, easier swivel and forward movements.

Almost 7 years by now... but it was definitely worth the wait, here's a quick comparison between the new figure and the old, unreleased prototype.

I really hope this means more GT in the future, there are some great designs in that show that would work beautifully in the Figuarts-line.

Finally! More than 6 years later! Love to see the updated design.

What is hard to understand is today is the so called "Goku day" but pre-orders are not open today but May 11.

On the bright side if we waited for 6 years+...2 days more is nothing.

Very glad Tamashii updated this figure over the initial reveal all those years ago. Although the story in GT never captured my interest the way Z did, I always found the unique design of SS4 very appealing, definite order from me.

I remember seeing that original design they had 7 years back, I thought it would be a disaster

This looks like a masterpiece.

I'll be honest, this form I think is superior to any of these head hair recolors. It's a real transformation that has feels like it remembers Dragonball.

I agree. Super Saiyan 4 gets a lot of hate, some of which I can understand because the design is radically different, but I also like it better than anything Super cooked up.

For multiple reasons, I like that it truly embraces a more "Saiyan" look with the fur and tail and how it returns to the black hair color. And I also really like how this harkens back to Dragonball being inspired by Journey to the West, because now Son Goku really does look like the "Monkey King".

Lastly, as you said, it reminds me of OG Dragonball. This is basically how I would envision an adult Goku who has mastered the martial arts if I didn't know Z existed.

Yes! Now all we need is SSJ4 Vegeta. I'm glad Tamashii is giving GT attention. Sure the show may not be as good but some of the characters are really interesting so this is a definite yes for me buying this. I'm tired of the "Dragon Stars" Goku simply because it doesn't stand up to something like this.

People were, and is, freaking insane with Xeno Goku SSJ4 in Dragon Ball Hero and had years asking for a GT SSJ4 Goku on Tamashii social media.

SSJ4 Goku is already out of stock on all the Japanese sites. He sold out in 1 minute on Hobby Genki.

Just shows haters are not the majority, they are just the loudest ones. If demand is high for a general release they will make more, and also the US stores haven't listed him yet.

Hey do we know when ssj4 goku will be up for pre order on other sites? I tried with amiami right when pre orders were open but the site kept crashing and couldn't get the order in. I been checking bbts but they have nothinf up yet, anyone know other places to check?

Wow. Its sold out already. It was sold out in less than 20 mins. Thats absurd!

I wanted the SS3 reissue. I saw it appear on BBTS and said to myself, ill order it later. When later came went to buy and it was sold out.

Same with Frieza's first form. It was available yesterday in the morning. Was on the fence about getting it. Made up my mind and said, i better get it from now, the last time it was available it sold out. I should act now. .....went to buy it and bam. Gone!LOL

Moral of the story. If you see anything you want. You better get it immediately.lol

Right now it's more like there's only one or two sites. So of course Preorders burn out fast.

Honestly, im gonna go out on a limb and say that i doubt that its due to Scalpers.

They were sold out in Japan as well in like the first hour.

While i was waiting for BBTS to place the order up. I was checking a Japanese site that i also use. I was waiting for them to list it in there "new stuff" but it never appeared. I then went to order Frieza because he is Sold out in the US and i saw that SS4 was already sold out. That means, that it sold out so fast i must have missed it being listed. I have been stalking this site for days.


Anyways, as its 1 per customer. I just presume interest is just that high. I suspect even people that arnt Hardcore DB figuarts buyers must have bite for this release.

Toywiz.com has 4 SS4 Goku's left if anyone is still interested. They have them at 124.99 though. Which is is a rip off.

Amazon just went up. I don't know if will really ship in January or if they are being conservative on the date.

Absolutely refuse to pay marked up prices from greedy retailers trying to make a quick buck from demand. Scalpers are bad enough. Thanks for the Amazon update, placed pre-order there, don't mind it shipping late. I've had problems with first batches in the past.
