This is a well done interpretation of a formerly popular look for Aquaman. I was as surprised when DC moved away from this look as I was when it first arrived as it seemed to legitimate the character and resonated with many fans. Regardless of the look, I like Aquaman and have light heartedly chided friends over the years that bought into the idea that Aquaman was a derpy hero. Anyone familiar with Arthur knows he's every bit the badass this statue portrays him as.

I don't collect these but I appreciate the look they went with. For me this is the Aquaman-look because this is how he looked in the animated Justice League.

I'd say they essentially went with this look for the movies because Jason Mamoa has long curly hair, a full beard, and tattoos instead of a hook hand.
