Definitely an "out of left field/who the fuck asked for this?" kind of release.

I barely remembered the flashback scene so I checked it out on YouTube and it's less than 90 seconds long and so darkly-lit you can barely see what the guys look like. Again, this is such a weird release.

That said, if you're excited for it, that's awesome. It might sell well since it wouldn't only appeal to TMNT fans, but also guys who might just want some generic kung-fu dudes as well.

Hell, people made fun of me when I got all excited over the Marvel Legends White Rabbit release, so I guess I shouldn't poke fun at this set, lol.

Very economical parts re-use between them. I'm particularly impressed by the alternated highlights on the pants, the left thighs almost look like different sculpts. Until I remembered what he was wearing when he died, I was this close to complaining they didn't have a Splinter cradling his ear or stroking Yoshi's hand

It might be made to use as much existing tooling as possible, but the scene struck me hard as a kid and I'm glad to see it being represented here. Something about the surreal, impressionistic portrayal of everything, the black sets showing only what mattered, the degraded film, it was a genuinely affecting display of old, faded memory where the fine details had been long lost

Little kid me was impressed, at least :D

So which one of the is supposed to be young Shredder while the other one is Splinter's human master?

They both look the same due to the pants clothes etc

Mr. Eyebrows in the ninja smoking jacket (with rat-slashed alt head) is future Shredder, the much more friendly looking fellow on the right is Hamato Yoshi

The one on the left is young Shredder, the giveaway is his alternate scarred face.

Yeah with the exception of Tatsu, they have completed tapped out the first two films.

I would love to see them do the Turtles in Samurai armor from TMNT 3.

I see lotta custom potenital with this set. And the bare arms give me hope for escape from new york snake plissken to have bot bare arms AND jacketed arms.

I really want this set to set up a Shadow Warrior Foot Clan display. Have the two of them squaring off in a Foot themed dojo with the foot soldiers surrounding them. Like the fight that started their rivalry in the past of Yoshi beating Saki , the rightful heir to the leadership of the Foot, and Saki feeling disgrace in front of his clan and vowing revenge.... I may have thought too much about all this , HA!

I think it's pretty cool. Don't know that it's $50 cool, but I'll likely still get them.

Yeah they really don't have any other characters they can pull from.

Maybe we will get the bathtub Raph was in, or the old truck Casey Jones fixed next lol!

Oh i just meant that i hope neca releases one that, like this set, you can swap out arms on it. If i were to make a custom i would use the old mcfarlane movie masters head, dremeled down of course. ;)
