So could this mean their going to rerelease ax battler?

Awesome, thrilled he's next! He looks fantastic. Will be ordering at least two of these.

No I wouldn't think so unfortunately.

Maybe as some kind of variant then...? Hard to imagine people getting the other 2 knowing they're always going to be missing one.

If there is a player 2 color scheme (not real familiar with the game) they will probably eventually do a re-release alt color... but Storm doesn't re-release anything- people wanted Scorpion and SubZero in the MK line to be re-released forever and Storm never did... only when they changed up to new game versions were collectors that missed them able to get those characters.

You can't play the same character in Golden Axe in co-op, if memory serves, so there was never any alternate color version of the sprites. Even in the VS mode where players could play PvP, you couldn't pick the same character.

So outside of some "bloody" variant or maybe a black/red color "clone" variant (I somehow remember having to fight evil clone versions of the heroes in the GA games, not sure if real or just figment of my imagination; or getting confused with SOR where it definitely happens), I don't think there's a chance we'll get Axe Battler again.

I'm floored at how my childhood losses in the arcade are now prepared to pay me back in adulthood.

I'm super excited for this guy! Ax Battler and the Skeleton Warriors are top-tier, so I'm sure Gilius will be no different.

I have an new boxed Axe Battler if anyone wants to DM me an offer I cant refuse...

I mean this is why you have to support the lines you like, especially first releases. I didn't know there would be anyone beyond Ax Battler, but I bought him and the Skeletons just the same even though the dwarf was my favorite character.

Small companies can't just reissue something every time they do a new release in the same line.

That's why Storm does endless variants and player 2 colors and what not.

It isn't a stretch they find some way to do a variant of Axe Battler, in order to "re-issue" him that way.

I hope they do for people that didn't get him the first time around, but I'm glad I got him just in case they don't.

Is there any chance, based on the popularity of the Golden Axe figures thus far, Storm might do figures from the sequel games? Like maybe they will do Kain Grinder instead of another Ax Battler?

Gilius turned out pretty good. Was actually hoping he'd resemble the sprites a bit more, with longer hair/beard and more of a dwarven proportion, but this still looks great. Chicken leg looks awesome too. Can't find a more iconic GA mount than that. Preordering it right now and waiting for more info on Tyris.

Had to look up who that was lol. So that's the Axe-clone from 3? I've always assumed the man and woman main characters were Axe and Tyris in 3. Yeah I don't see why they couldn't do some minor tweaks and give us those 2. Though I'm personally more excited for the panther guy whats his face, by far the most cool-looking playable character from 3 imho.

Agree but probably we wont get Golden Axe figures like this again. I'll throw in my other knitpick, Gilius is definitely a favorite for many including myself, but out of the other characters what would have made this perfect if there was a ridiculous ab crunch to the figure, so he could be posed doing that roll move. But that's really a tiny wish/critique. But still preordered.
