I'm gonna be needing that Dragon on my shelf.....

Looks like I'll be ordering my first Mythic Legions figure soon.

superkeaton 11-15-2021 07:24 AM

Absolutely gunning for that evil wizard, he'll look great with the others and I've already got some necromancy poses in mind for the skeletons I have

Boogieman4hire 11-15-2021 07:59 AM

I'm glad you guys got around to posting this because this wave is way too cool to miss. Also that's a pretty wide preorder period so bonus.

dukefett 11-15-2021 08:31 AM

This may be their best wave yet, all great looking figures. Most come with alternate hands too now, so that's kind of exciting to see for the line in the future. Will def be placing an All In order.

Zeorn 11-15-2021 08:41 AM

They also introduced a new scale. It used to be standard 6", ogre 9", and troll 12" but now there is brute ~8". The Djinn and Orc Shaman are Brute scale.

Robogeek28 11-15-2021 08:45 AM

So I've never paid attention to Mythic Legions before now, and I have a question. Do they make upgrade kits for figures? That dragon is just begging to have a set of wings, extra purple flame effects, and possibly a shield added to him.

I know he was made from that Cosmic Legion 4 armed alien which can swap out those upper arms with a back filler, so making a wing set for him should be easy peasey right?

emeraldnite 11-15-2021 10:19 AM

Can't pass up a zombie horse and rider or magic effects to add to my Strange/Dormammu/various wizard figures!

So they have released various Demon wings which would be great for this dragon. The pale blue that released in Arethyr wave would be closest but you could acquire any and try to repaint. The problem is the blue wings are mostly sold out now so your best bet is getting the white ones that will release with the upcoming Illythia wave. There have been 4 demon wings so far: blue, red, white, orange (comes only with Arethyr). You could also potentially buy their bird wings if you can't get demon wings or if they suit your tastes better.

The price increases are a bit disturbing, but these are some awesome looking figures. The head sculpts are improving so much that I'm almost embarrassed to look at AoD and earlier non-helmeted faces.

I'm definitely in for Thraice. I might talk myself into the Dragon, but his underbite and lack of wings are holding me back (plus the price).

dukefett 11-15-2021 11:36 AM

I don't think the prices are too bad considering they're coming with alternate hands and very good soft goods. The regular 1.0/2.0 figures in this wave only went up by $2. I thought their Cosmic Legions pricing was a bit out there though.

The $37 price isn't that bad, but all the other price points add up very quickly.

I'm also still smarting over the legion builder price increase in the last wave. Now that really adds up.

I'm considering just doing a few Thraices and leaving the rest of the wave behind. The evil wizard looks cool, but I've never been fond of the Gandalf/bearded wizard trope and I don't have another male head to use for the figure.

Zeorn 11-15-2021 01:13 PM

Legion builders went from $22 to $25 but all ended up coming with 2 heads in Cosmic Legions which definitely isn't a given with them.

Soft goods have jumped up astronomically in quality, so price has increased from $35 to $37 but you're getting $30+ quality patterned, tailored soft goods if bought separately.

Brutes are $47 but they're around 8" as opposed to 6"

SuperWeird 11-15-2021 03:32 PM

These look dope. I'll be ordering a few of them for sure.

Yeah I agree with this, we're getting a good value here IMO. We just had the All Stars wave that had people vote for Sir Owain and Vitus that are bare bones figures with few accessories and no alt heads and people were happy to pay $35 for them.

The dragon is pricey at $60 but I think that's not far off from other special ogres and he's got some cool color changing paint or something going on.

SpasticPlastic 11-15-2021 06:19 PM

Well, I done did it. I ordered some Mythic Legions. Dammit. I was doing so good avoiding them, too. I ordered the horse and the zombie-looking, winged bloke. I almost got the dragon dude, too, but was able to show some restraint.

Now you've done it, you bought one of the Four Horsemen, now you're going to need the others and their mounts at the very least. One set has actually been released, one has been on pre-order about a year, and last won't be revealed until next year.

One of us. One of us.

SpasticPlastic 11-16-2021 01:59 PM

Hopefully this will be my only order…

That's possible, right? ……….Right? Uh…guys?

January 9th. Two more months to mull it over. Yeah that's rough.

MDrakeMIC 11-17-2021 03:10 AM

It will be at BBTS too?

Yeah, they always go up after the pre-order window closes so probably January 10th.

Thank you! Usually the price is the same? Or is cheaper at the 4 horsemen preoroder?

I never had an "Mythic Legions" figure before, I wanted to have some to make an diorama with others figures I have, and I am planning to have those mages.

The prices are definitely higher on BBTS, usually $15-$20 more per figure but I know Four Horsemen have been said to have very expensive international shipping. If in the U.S., ordering direct from Four Horsemen is definitely cheapest.

Depending on your order BBTS might be cheaper for you in Brazil. I'd suggest putting your order in your cart and checking shipping from Four Horsemen to compare with what your order might cost from BBTS.

Going by the Cosmic Legion prices from Four Horsemen and BBTS I'd guess the price increases will be $37->$50, $45 and $47->$60, $60->$80.
