DC Multiverse Gotham Knights Figures
|
Red Robin and Nightwing look to have more makeup on than Batgirl
|
These look really good. Will probably get them all. Can't wait to play the game.
|
Hope red hood has guns.
|
Red Hood will not be having guns we've see the contents already for this guy.
There's already reviews floating around. |
Red Hood comes with alternate hands that make "finger guns" but that's the only accessory pack in.
|
Red Hood has some wide hips...

We have a winner for the dumbest looking Robin in DC history (not McFarlane's fault of course).
Burt Ward, you can give up your crown. |

Also none of these figures look like they'll come with any torso articulations. |
Why does Red Robin look like Justin Warner from Food Network?

Shame. There's no import company making DC game figures (cant rely on SHF)? So its just from McFarlane? These are "ok," but with how these look, even if they make a well executed Talon (they're probably going to make one) makes me less interested for this new wave. Agree with previous comments. Pity.

I really loved Arkham Knight... really wish they would have made another bigger next gen Batman game instead Gotham Knights. I mean I like those characters too, but playing as them is just not as cool as being the Bat.

It's kind of funny as both the Right and the Left now want to censor guns in everything for kids.
Probably SHOULDN'T be marketing rapey, killer clowns and psychotic mass murders to kids at all, bros. Just like how Cobra Commander having a hood is a No Go (said by the Joe development team themselves recently), but Cobra Commander himself apparently isn't. Because as long as the racist white terrorist character doesn't invoke the KKK from his look I guess he's OK for the kiddos to have? Always gotta love how companies try to be both woke and yet not woke. |
The problem for the Joe team isn't that Cobra Commander is considered a problem, it's hoods. There's nothing "un-woke" about Cobra Commander, who in most incarnations is no more offensive than Skeletor or Megatron (in his Sunbow incarnation, he is kind of an alien/monster just like them). He's simply an over-the-top 80s cartoon villain, played more for comedy than to be truly threatening.
He's also one of my favorite characters of all time (right behind, um, Skeletor) so I'm biased, but I think you're off base on the issue with the hood. The lack of guns in DC figures is just bizarre. No other company enforces that level of silliness (just look at Joes, Legends, and other action figures). |
With Cobra Commander I think it's Hasbro profiting off of the KKK with the Hood even if said character is the villain. It's the perception they wish to avoid.
Despite the DC gun ban. Mcfarlane could have put in either sci fi looking guns or some other kind of accessory for the character to hold. Mcfarlane has this bad habit of not including essential things and doubling down on taking more away in some cases. They never try to make up for what needs to be removed. |
My understanding was WB/AT&T won't allow any projectile weapons, while Disney is allowing Sci-Fi looking guns for Marvel figures but not always (for instance, the new Winter Soldier coming has real life weapons he used). Even the Mafex Huntress coming has no crossbow, which is pretty much what Huntress is known for.
I still don't even get the whole "hood" thing, since Scooby-Doo has hooded villains that looks like clansmen and there seems to be no issues. My assumption has been because Larry Hama said Cobra Commander was in the comics created to be a parody of white supremacist William F. Buckley. So they probably don't want to touch that more than they need to, and using the helmet conjures up the more safe alien one from the cartoon (who let's face it - most people know way more anyway). |
I really wish another company would tackle these figures. I really like Todd' stuff, and he can make a great figure at times, but I just don't care for 7" stuff. Hopefully MAFEX or SHF will tackle these.

You know if I work for McFarlane, this is what I'd propose: Let's make a Spawn accessories pack! Sized for Spawn figures...let's say we include a silver DE with extended barrel, some pistols for dual wielding, some futuristic weapons...they're for Spawn figures, because we can make guns for our Spawn line, but can be used by our other lines. *wink* *wink*
Problem solved and they'll sell TONS of those accessories packs. |
