Is this the first movie villain with a figure, outside of the robots?

I believe so...though to be fair...Otomo was a Ninja robot...lol

I don't remember Otomo being taller than Robo though...it's been a while since I've seen part 3, and I definitely don't want to sit through any part of it again anytime soon to double check its accuracy. It's still a damn good sculpt though of Bruce Locke for being a figure of this scale.

Maybe it's just me, but as the whole point of the battle-damage is to tell the otherwise identical Otomos apart (and avoid split-screen FX) it feels weird to have this as his first release.

It's nowhere near as bad as people remember, and is a pretty lively little action movie. A much better time than 2 for sure.

Otomo head could make for a decent Jigsaw (from Punisher fame) custom.

2 is a flawed movie to be sure, 3 is a low-budget children's movie in comparison.

Yeah... I'll agree that 3 isn't as god-awful as some people act, but it is EASILY the worst of the trilogy, by a mile. The first two had this grit to them, and a really dark sense of humor at times. The third was fun, but way too sanitized and "feel good."

Yeah, but one of them had a much better script and a director who cared... I'll take an earnest family film over a nihilistic nightmare made without a scrap of love from the writer & director just because there's some blood and cussing.

I hate being reminded that I'm in the minority in thinking RoboCop 2 is one of the worst sequels of all time and an even bigger stain on Kershner's legacy than Never Say Never Again :(
