Please help identifying this antique!

Good morning!

My mom passed away some years ago and I'm only now starting top go through her things. I found this little antique gun, about 7 inches long, with the name 'NOVA' embossed on both sides, but that's lead me nowhere.

I would appreciate any information you can share on its provenance, age, value, etc.

Probably too antique for anyone here to identify.

Look like maybe it was one of those sucker/plunger firing guns.

It does look like there's a spring in it of some sort. I'll keep looking, I'm not sure I'm ready to let eBay decide how much of an antique it is!
