Looks great but I guess it missed the Retro Spider-man body mold. Still looks good.

TheMandalorian 01-20-2022 12:20 PM

New Body

They went for a new Pin-Less Body on this one, instead of the Retro Body we have been getting. Only major difference seems to be the torso/ab crunch.

Looks good, curious how tight the Waldo's joints are, can they support the figure, using all three like the classic cover?

firmpulse 01-20-2022 12:59 PM

Man that looks great. I've always wondered why the backpack leg thing is only 3 legs and not 4. Anyone know? It's kind of weird.

Just how they designed it, it never made sense. Funnily enough every Iron Spider after Peter wore the suit did have all 4.

Anyway this was a good Spider-Man that needed a redo, I'm glad it's getting one.

I suppose it just looks less convoluted when you draw it, one less appendage to figure out the right position for.

.

At the time I think they didn't want him to look like Doc Ock. While silly logic considering three legs doesn't prevent that and you know Spiders have 8 legs. Even some artists got confused as they'd draw four legs instead of 3 because one those makes far more sense.

Smasher 01-20-2022 03:28 PM

Wow. This looks really good.
I guess the backpack legs could be shinier, but this plastic is probably more durable.

I, too, would like to know what happened in the editorial meetings where they decided to give the backpack only three legs.
You can't fault Hasbro for being accurate -although I would like to.

I like this, I hope it isn't an exclusive and if it isn't I think I'm going to buy my first spiderman toy

Maybe not exclusive, but with the metal spider legs and the extra web effects it might be a "deluxe" figure.

GutsNSluts 01-20-2022 07:08 PM

So damazing is officially working for hasbro. About time.

There is a disclaimer at the bottom of each picture noting that "special effects and props" were used for these photos so that implies that those web pieces are not actually included and just something done up for presentation.

MeLikeJinx 01-21-2022 04:02 AM

Never liked this suit... the red and gold colors never reminded me of Iron Man, but more like the Chinese New Year Dragon dance Dragon thing.

Well I don't know if that's good or bad, but those webs would be nice.

Designincase 01-21-2022 10:23 AM

Hasbro gave the Youtuber the figure and the Youtuber provided their own accessories for their photoshoot.
It's not bad other then those webs are not made by Hasbro for the figure.

Hes not. Hes just the YouTube personality that got selected to reveal the figure. Like Unparalleled Universe got to reveal that classic looking Cap figure a few months back. I dont even think they get to keep the figure lol.

It's bad because a Deluxe Spidey with web accessories would be a good thing.

But maybe it's good that it's not this Spider-Man? Save that for a less desirable version.
