Hasbro FFW April 6 Recap – TBS Saw, New TVC, Publishing Vader, Sgt Kreel and More

SilverCenturion 04-06-2022 08:55 AM

So excited for the mandalorian figures. In particular the Luke from season 2 and the Dark Trooper, army builder for sure.

dukefett 04-06-2022 09:39 AM

Tons of Mandalorian and Mando related TVC figures. Rogue One is the only thing I'm still collecting TBS for, but it's almost astounding that Saw is the single movie, or even live action, Black Series figure. The pipeline reveals are Mando related, but still.

VashTS 04-06-2022 10:07 AM

I stopped with the black series. Outside the original trilogy and SOME of the prequels, nothing is worth caring about.

It would've been nice if they would include background dioramas or bases.

Their ever increasing prices just make it not worth it.

snake5289 04-06-2022 10:16 AM

Some good TVC stuff there. I'll take anything from Mandalorian.

jscott991 04-06-2022 10:22 AM

Is it just known that TVC is the focus now? It seemed for a while Black Series was the main line, but it's been pretty pitiful for a year or more.

These reveals don't even rise to "meh." And we didn't get any of the pipeline reveals from the last show.

I have probably all I want except for Governor Pryce (or any female Imperial officer), but it's sad that TBS seems so neglected.

TheBlueMarvel 04-06-2022 10:41 AM

Lol not to pile on, or to engage in the ubiquitous internet group-think trope, but when did Lando become a dandy? Sure, Billy D was the man and known for epitomizing the concept of 'smooth brother', but I never really envisioned the character as a foppish clown.

TVC does seem to be the focus, I'm sure they sell more of them. Many collectors will buy 2 to keep one on card, and then you have stuff like Jawas and Tuskens where I bought 8 of each lol.

IceKill17 04-06-2022 11:07 AM

yay another Grogu...

Army building isn't just a TVC thing so I don't think that really explains it.

ThorOdinson123 04-06-2022 12:15 PM

oh boy another 10 dollar TBS Grogu that is as big as a quarter

Harbinger 04-06-2022 12:25 PM

At least I'll finally be able to get a second Shae to open finally. She was impossible to find back in the day...and that those aftermarket prices...I decided to keep her on card.

It's a prequel figure, so Lando's wardrobe became more conservative when he got older. Making his outfits less homogeneous than the franchise's standard makes him figuratively & literally stand out.

Lol Ok, sure. I suppose that might make sense from the perspective of speculative conjecture. I still don't see Lando as a space 'metro' type, but I'm a Trekkie and don't much care one way or the other. The outfit just looks silly, to me, and has an expressive flourish that feels out of step.

Wow, Saw being a deluxe feels like the most ridiculous one yet. I mean they've mostly been pretty ridiculous but this one makes it more apparent since his only accessories are a walking stick and a pistol. Weird/disappointing to have Saw shown but not Aayla and CW season 7 Maul which were announced alongside him.

The only reason I'm giving them a pass on this being a deluxe is I think he's practically the last main Rogue One figure needed that I can think of and he'll probably shelfwarm in the long run. So I'll pay a little extra to get the figure done and actually look good.

MeLikeJinx 04-06-2022 04:20 PM

The TVC figs are so small now... like they are true 3.75" scale instead of being 4" scale and just calling them 3.75" like how MU and Joes were. I mean if you keep them carded it doesn't really matter, but when you display them with other figs even older SW figs you really notice how tiny they are now.

CelticMutt 04-06-2022 05:15 PM

I have a Shae Vizla still on the card in storage, so I had to look up pictures to be sure, but that is a new and much improved headsculpt. I definitely want one.

Jeddostotle7 04-06-2022 06:14 PM

Sev is the most disappointing of the Delta Squad releases thus far. I see now that they're basing them off their appearances in The Clone Wars, what with Sev's less messy face paint and unadorned shoulderpad. However, even taking that into account, this release still feels underwhelming.

also it's an all new intricate sculpt with deco hits

That could basically be said of any new Black Series figure that isn't a straight repaint, there's not much of a reason for this figure to be charged $10 more than a standard release. Just picking one for example, Fennec is a totally new intricately sculpted figure with a fair amount of paint deco and she's sold as a regular release (if you can find her, but that's another issue entirely).

User897 04-06-2022 07:04 PM

I only want one figure out of this mess. Even then, it won't be the end of the world if I end up not getting it.

Everything is absolute pants. Thanks for saving me some money yet again, hasblo!

Dormamu 04-06-2022 08:30 PM

I so wish that Shae Vizla and Smooth Lando were full 6" scale. I'd be all over that. It's that constant desire for Extended Universe characters in the larger form. I am glad that for the 3.75" collectors that this is an improvement.

The comic versions of Infinities Vader and even Leia are...anticlimactic? Leia looks almost like a revamp Padme buck with shorter legs. Definitely not the streamlined taller form the comic look has. White Vader is a drink, not an excuse to release a figure with no paint.

Saw is...Lets leave it at that. Saw is.

Also, clones sell, but I'm super tired of them. The pipeline reveals are also....going to be real timely for Season 3 of Mandalorian. But not really as desired as I would hope. Like...another Grogu?

Uh... he appeared like that in the movie and in the concept art for the movie that figure is based on... I mean it’s a man in a cape you MIGHT be overthinking it.
