For a first offering I think this looks great.
Where do I throw my monies?

T0ySick 04-27-2022 10:13 AM

Looks better than Necas (which I rarely say), at the same scale it seems.

I feel like given how good Neca is with all of their figures. The Godzilla ones could have been a lot better.

Smasher 04-27-2022 01:28 PM

Does anyone know what they have the license to do?
I know they have Legendary's Godzilla X Kong, but what else.

Even if there's an announcement from Hiya along the lines of "We can do alls the kaijus!" I'm not going to get excited until the preorders are open.

It looks closer to NECA than MonsterArts to me.
There definitely seems to be an attempt to get to look up without all of those terrible cuts in the neck on the MonsterArts.

I use my NECA to display my 2019 Godzilla because, to me, the MonsterArts one only looks good when he is looking straight up.

And after I displayed him in the "Poster Pose" for a little bit I kind of regretted buying it.

Dr Kain 04-27-2022 04:23 PM

It's cool, but not for me. Hopefully they will do some Showa monsters in the near future.

snake5289 04-27-2022 04:42 PM

I like it just wish it was the same size as the rest of Hiya's stuff. A 4 inch Godzilla that doesn't suck would be a dream come true.

By the gods, finally someone who doesn't charge an arm and a leg for godzilla! Now finally give us a REAL, articulated King Ghidorah, not a statue like Monster Arts' abomination.

ghostbogey 04-28-2022 02:01 AM

Not Bad....

Me?...
In general.....
I'm a "Kaiju Sofubi" Man ;^)

Ghidorah is a Monster Zero?

kollekxon 04-28-2022 06:03 AM

Showa era is truly neglected.

I said it to Hiya, and I'll say it here. If this is a China-only release, then why are we even talking about it? This really pissed me off because I was intrigued, until reading the China part. Why even share anything about it, Hiya? Oh well, my large and heavy electronic NECA figure isn't going anywhere anyway.

1) Importing toys is a thing you can do.
2) People from all over the world visit this website, even China! Crazy, right?

People say funny things on the internet, right?

Looks like Hiya confirmed a Q2 Pe-Order window for US customers on their Twitter as well.

I'm seeing $40 on their site which is definitely a good competing price when Monsterarts is the main alternative and those are definitely running more than $40. Super7 is also throwing their hat in the ring but at $85 it's not exactly appealing. Definitely sad that NECA lost the license because they never went above $30 (although I'm sure they would have raised by now) and a number of their later offerings were actually just damn impressive.

User897 04-28-2022 09:52 PM

I have the electronic NECA one that is 12" tall and 24" long head to tail. I think it's the only one I'll ever need, but I am a Hiya fan too so I might just go for it when/if it becomes available.

ghostbogey 04-29-2022 02:02 AM

I was almost going to buy that one soooo many times..I just couldn't get over the lack of detail at that scale. But it's a great Godzilla for Godzilla sake.

Um, have you actually HELD one and looked at it in person? I think the detail is amazing.

Parag0ne 05-02-2022 08:29 PM

Agreed - I have one, and the detail is superior to NECA's smaller 2014 figure.

It understandably lacks in articulation, but it looks more authentic than the Monsterarts(I have both the original 2014, and the spitfire version as well).

Parag0ne 05-02-2022 08:36 PM

This looks far superior to the NECA or Monsterarts(I have 5 legendary Godzilla Monsterarts figures, so I feel confident in that assessment).

And at that price, this is definitely a product that will get my support.

I am praying they do more.
