Batman 1989 Cowl Replica
|
I got excited, but it’s not a Mezco ‘89 Batman being released. :(
Nice cowl detail, tho. Too bad it’s not wearable. |
Not wearable? What's the point, then, if I can't put it on and run around the house humming the Danny Elfman-composed Batman theme like a nut?
|
^lol Seriously, what's the point if can't do exactly what you've suggested?
|
That looks soooooo weird. How many inches do you think they trimmed the ears by? If they did scan a real cowl, it looks like they used one of the short-eared "Bamobile" cowls made to fit under the canopy instead of one of the heroes. It looks they resculpted parts, especially the eyebrows, but the whole back of the neck is looking weird. I get that the originals have rotted to various degrees, foam latex does that, but this is all kinds of funky.
Mayoral house statue base? We never saw the mayor's house, that's from City Hall. Oh, and the batarang details are inverted; those raised lines are supposed to recessed. If this were a $150 bust you could pick up at GameStop then nobody would care, but asking someone to spend a week's paycheck on something? You need to do your research on what you're making and be upfront about what people are getting, for reals. |
Cool Rubber Mask....
Oh....Sorry. "BAT" Rubber ;^) |
Why?
Two questions I always had:
Who would pay 800 bucks for a cowl you could not wear. Along those same lines: Who would pay 200 to 300 bucks for a lightsaber you cant duel with. |
Quote:
But lightsabers requires a transparent material that you can light up that's strong enough to whack things without it cracking...plastic, glass, both will crack/break if you hit it hard enough. So until the day they make a clear material that's strong like metal, we have to settle for $200-300 lightsaber that you got to be gentle with. (Let's be honest, we still whack things with our Force FX lightsabers...just gently.) |
Ah my friend,it seems your are not aware of the multitude of independent lightsaber manufacturers out there that make fully duelable lightsabers with polycarbonate blades. My comment was directed at those fx sabers and the ones that can be purchased at the Disney parks which amount to expensive giant glow sticks. Where for just a little more money, and in some cases for the same price, you can get something that you can full out hit things with and not worry about it being dropped when your 6 year old wants to hold it.
Likewise, there were several independent vendors on Etsy for a time that offered this cowl and others for about 200 bucks that you can wear. Some of those vendors may still be on there. |
