Samus looks freaking perfect, I love it. The E.M.M.I. is a really nice surprise too!

Seeing the Souls series getting some love is great. I think they are making a Demon's Souls Knight as well.

As for Elden Ring - I'm floored that we're getting Torrent. I wouldn't even dare to dream about this, but given that they make figma horses I had a faint hope it would happen. The mount is a huge part of what makes exploring the Lands Between fun IMO, so of course I want one for my shelf as well!

They could make characters like him, Ridley or Kraid out of scale but I personally wouldn't be a fan of that. Maybe Ridley works if it’s specifically the Smash Bros. version. Which was also downsized after previous statements that Ridley is too large for the game :D

And even the E.M.M.I. figma is already pretty big, they posted a picture of the two figures together.

Man, I'm still waiting for the day someone makes a Steve Wang Guyver figure, especially if they can nail that paint job! Cammy is looking fine, as usual, but I'm not looking forward to whatever she'll cost... I haven't seen an affordable Cammy in ages. :(

If it's in scale with their (admittedly wonky) ED-209, it should be about 9 inches tall, roughly 1/12. And he looks dumbed down enough to keep him at a similar price point, so here's hoping for a sub-$100 kit of RoboCop 2 himself!

Oh my gosh, I hadn't seen that post before I complimented the Cammy statue. I can't speak to straight people (or men) but Cammy is the exception to the eyeroll I typically give to these kinds of things since she was my main when I played video games, and I've always been a booty over boobs kinda girl anyway, which has only been a recently-catered-to thing in the pervy statue market.

That said, I give the same eyeroll to big burly muscle men power fantasy statues, too. I mean, isn't Masters of the Universe is just a Chippendales calendar with swords and laser guns?

If you make something that’s expensive you always need to make sure you can actually sell enough pieces to make a profit.

My observation wasn't at all aimed at you, or intended to represent everyone that likes Cammy's design. Nor was it even a straight line indictment of what most fighting-game enthusiasts might recognize as not a huge departure from what we've seen from Cammy-based media - although, this shit is definitely much more straight thong than risque unitard. What I was getting at was a question regarding hypersexual imagery shaping the wants of the viewer creating a superficial voyeuristic value vs the actual healthy experience of sensuality. I've been, as have most Americans, routinely inundated with these types of overtly sexual images, while living in a society with puritanical roots that's afraid to show nudity on public TV (regardless of the context) and chastises women for breast feeding in public. It's a very strange dichotomy and a schism worth exploring, even here on a toysite, especially when wares like this one are pretty ubiquitous.

While I fit the demo and am, admittedly, securely a breast man in my preferences, I won't presume to speak categorically about the ways in which other males/females (cis or otherwise) objectify bodies or statues of them. To each their own. I also agree with you that hulking men represent objectification too and I've said for years that it would've been hilarious if Tomonobu Itagaki had introduced hung-male crotch physics along with breast physics for DOA. Goose and gander, right? ;)

I hope it doesn't end up being so much better than the already-good original release that I'll feel the need to upgrade, but if I DO indeed buy it, I hope it doesn't make my awesome Guyver 3 Figma in need a future upgrade down the line as well. I mean, these things aren't cheap.

As a straight guy who is a big fan of Cammy, I personally find that statue pretty cringy. I mean, it's a nice statue overall but the all-but bare ass is way too much. I don't get how people can buy ultra-cheesecake statues like that and feel comfortable displaying them in their homes.

And I am very much in agreement that the US has a bizarre preoccupation with sexualization, with rampant hyper-sexualization on one hand and steadfast condemnation of it on the other, often by the same people, and it's a "fun" idea to explore. It does seem to lead to a disconnect, doesn't it, with sensuality as entertainment rather than experience? I feel that there's plenty of room for a more voyeuristic take in the same way that other baser instincts are given form in media (such as violent action films) as long as they're recognized as dramatized, theatrical exhibitions and not representations of reality (with the exceptions usually created, marketed, and distinctly recognized as such) to be seen as the norm.

I mean, unless you're into that weird, theatrical stuff, in which case live your best life and have fun, just don't start thinking that's a standard, you know?

And I suppose one fun aspect of swinging for the same team is that the problematic aspects of the object/goal dynamic of sexual fantasy versus power fantasy can be much, much, much simpler: it isn't "want to have her" vs "want to be him", it's "want to have and be her" :D
