I'd love to add symbiote Ultimate Spidey to my collection, but I have zero interest in the villains in this set.
It seems odd to me that Hasbro would include a group of villains that are mostly deep cuts (aside from Silvermane, I guess) with an Ultimate Spidey figure.
I'm at work, so I haven't had the chance to watch the entire video, so I'm curious if they explained their reasoning for that lineup at some point during the livestream.

Yeah thematically pairing Symbiote Ultimate Spider-man doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Heck Molten Mans 1610 counterpart didn't become Molten Man. Liz became Firestar with a Molten Man aesthetic(and she was also Blobs daughter who flirted with Beast as a woman online........and ate people despite establishing himself as generally a sane man but you know Loeb killing the Ultimate universe and all).

Isn't this body just the same as the Black suited Spider-man before it?

Overall, I think 5packs are pushing it. Especially with this roster. But hey if it sells out then the demand was there.
It would be more appropriate with honestly something like Amazing Fantasy.

Also a shame that we don't get that symbiote aesthetic on a proper body. Could have been great for people who missed out on the Retro Spidey Symbiote.

Ahhh, I like that insight about Liz having an aesthetic inspired by Molton Man. I'd never thought of it that way !
Her look always struck me as an homage dedicated entirely to the Human Torch, since the original Firestar was a substitute for him in Spidey & His Amazing Friends, but I can definitely see it also being an homage to her 616 counterpart's brother !

It's the Ultimate/teen Spidey body. It was introduced in the Space Venom wave used for both Peter and Miles.

On paper, this is a set I would love to get, but, man, Silvermane and Molten Man look awful. Human Fly is okay, but Razorback is really the only one I want. I guess I'll be checking eBay for a loose one.:(

Aren't these sets normally linchpinned by at least one "gotta have it" figure? I can't imagine this being particularly desirable to any but the most pedantic of spiderman completists.

3 pack symbiotes (that Ive really wanted to be made for longest time) never came back in stock and this 5 pack making me even more unmotivated . I normally will buy any villain up no hesitation but these arent doing much for me . Silvermane is the only one I ever remember reading in spiderman comics . flyguy looks cool, razorback looks like its made well .I just have no attachment to these characters .Nah cant do it that spiderman is the only one I really want sadly .

I'm a bit surprised this & the Venom set weren't combined into a regular assortment.
I only want Razorback anyway.

OT: Does anybody remember The Fly from Archie Comics back in the 60s? I'd love to have a classic 5POA figure of that character.

If they actually put effort into all 5 figures instead of half assing each one, then you could forgive the odd character choices. Silvermane for example, looks nothing like what he looked in the comics. They took a buck that loosely resembles a robot and just slapped a head on it. Why bother? Maybe just pick another character.
