The proportions on that Miles figure are HORRIBLE. His shoulders, waist, and hips are all nearly the same width. wtf.

Thatannoyingguy 09-12-2022 05:57 AM

This figure doesn’t look good at all. That chest joint cut is ugly as sin. Single joints for elbows and knees… really? This is a flexible character.

Black Arbor 09-12-2022 07:37 AM

"Spy-D"

...wut?

Cyclopswc 09-12-2022 07:49 AM

Miles looks SO confused!

That's the Mcfarlane torso cut!

IzzyTipsy 09-12-2022 07:54 AM

Pretty bad articulation, as with most Selects.

Does have some decent accessories being a better looking pre-posed Spider-Ham and that throwing weapon.

Yes but I'm a sucker for spider-ham..thats what they did here!

StudioOneTwelve 09-12-2022 08:34 AM

Even for a company that usually releases pretty bad looking figures this one takes the cake. I cannot believe this was approved for release.

Zigerlion 09-12-2022 08:38 AM

Fat body and some paraplegic legs and arms. Weird proportions all around and a happy-meal level derpy looking face to boot. How does marvel select make gems like the Juggernaut and Hulk but also make stuff like this?

Hasbro 09-12-2022 08:55 AM

Stop letting Diamond Select Toys make action figures. On top of looking ugly they can’t articulate for shit.

IzzyTipsy 09-12-2022 08:59 AM

Is it worse than the recent Moonknight they made?

This Morales chest joint reminds me more of ZD Toys’ No Way Home figure with that ugly sharp edge at the chest area.

McFarlane’s Darkseid’s chest still gives me nightmares. *shudders*

Smasher 09-12-2022 09:16 AM

Somehow they made a lithe character look like he has a dad bod.
But at least they gave him an unmasked head where it looks like he is scared.

Well, at least that Peter Porker figure is articulated.
Oh wait...
Seriously, can no manufacturer make a Spider-Ham figure with articulation?

K Dubious 09-12-2022 11:29 AM

Link is for Hasbro's horrible 3.75" Spiderman figure from around 2016 or so.

I stop collecting 3.75" figures due to these odd proportions... looks like diamond just copied the same poorly designed body and said look it's new!

Doubt they want to tool smaller unique bodies. Otherwise we'd see Howard with articulation, an actual Peni Parker, etc.

Hell, they made Sprite 2 foot taller than she should be.

I see what you're saying.
Somehow the physique looks even worse at the larger scale.
Maybe it's the weird hip joints.

If Hasbro can make an articulated Black Series Grogu than someone (most likely Hasbro) should be able to make an articulated Spider-Ham.

What happened to this company? They used to be incredible.

Nothing happened. There are some duds as usual but they have good figs coming out. I have Red Hulk, Beta Ray, and Apocalypse preordered. Their price point for these large figures are even less than shitty regular ML figures nowadays.

I’ll respectfully disagree that “nothing happened”. They had a really solid run for a while where their paint application and sculpting was some of the best in the business. Even their Marvel movie work was great (the Hugh Jackman Wolverine is brilliant).

I think the figures you mentioned are anomalies rather than the norm. I’d love to be wrong, though. I miss being a fan of their creations.

MeLikeJinx 09-13-2022 03:53 AM

This are good for kids... especially like tourist kids that go to the Disney store and beg their parents for a Spider-man fig... and since it is only 25-ish and they are on vacation the parent usually picks it up for them.

Are there still retail Disney Stores? My state's lone Disney Store recently closed down after like 30 years I think... I miss going there to look at all the plushies and Disney Cars stuff.

There are, but they are few and far between, much like the malls that house them.

Grogu sells like candy. it's pretty obvious they even did the Omega Black Series figure because they can reuse the body for kid Boba.

Well that's pretty subjective. You can go to the toyhollywood site and view all the Marvel Select pieces released year by year, starting in 2002. There are duds for each year and even the most generous reviewers won't say that any given year was 100% good. Nor can the most cynical ones say 100% bad. The customer and youtube reviews can pretty much confirm that despite what our personal biases may be.
