They look cool. I love that Toht has the burned hand and the melting face.

ThorOdinson123 10-01-2022 01:10 PM

Hasbro might be getting my money for that Indy figure

Toht and Belloq came out the best, the rest not bad. A decent job for the pricepoint.

deecee4 10-01-2022 01:26 PM

I thought for sure the German mechanic was going to be in this wave but guess not, ah well. Definitely in for these but, looking forward more to the inevitable Temple of Doom wave.

ShabbyBlue 10-01-2022 01:42 PM

The retro Kenner Indy reproduction was a great surprise. The original line only had 9 figures in it, so they could easily reproduce all of them. And what really caught my attention was them saying it would include never-before-made characters too. So maybe a Marion in the Cairo outfit (since the only one Kenner did was a version sculpted in a crouching pose to hide inside the Cairo playset basket).

As for the 6" line, it looks very promising so far too and I assume wave 2 will be Temple of Doom themed. The "Build-an-Ark" idea is cool, but I'm disappointed they didn't vac-metallize it. It's not like it has articulation joints preventing that. :(

AceSimulacrum 10-01-2022 02:19 PM

Was the most interested in this from HasCon. Toht is probably the best of the bunch, pretty well executed. Most disappointed with Marian, face is rather off in most angles, hope they can pull off a better Willie and Elsa if they push for it. Pity for the build an Ark, but its Hasbro so I get it. For the general price point its not bad and look forward for what they put out for the other Indiana Jones films.
Maost likely only in for Indy, to knitpick would be nice if his fedora was removable or a no-hat headsculpt. But I feel it does enough to beat out my aging Figma Indy. Still seriously hoping SHF can get a crack at an Indy, their Han Solos were exceptional.

cjflan32 10-01-2022 02:21 PM

Good stuff. I hope for the sake of all the Indy fans out there Hasbro gets to Temple of Doom and Last Crusade figures before Crystal Skull and whatever polished turd Disney releases next year ruin the line.

audiewhitaker 10-01-2022 02:39 PM

I really hope Belloq gets an exploding head

Raine24 10-01-2022 02:48 PM

I want to love these, but the lack of removable hat had me making a face, and the Build-An-Artifact thing would leave me with a permanently unfinished Ark. Honestly, having just a couple pieces of the Ark would bring me more annoyance than the figures would bring me joy. Darn.

Are those seriously 6inch figures? Why do they not have double jointed elbows and knees?

Given the reason Black Series switched from double-hinge knees to swivel-hinge knees was stated as "licensor request" by a Hasbro rep at SDCC 2019 or Toy Fair 2020 or something, and Indiana Jones is also a Lucasfilm property, I'm assuming it's how Lucasfilm's licensing department wants it. Maybe some combination of that and people from the Star Wars team at Hasbro working on the line.

ShabbyBlue 10-01-2022 06:01 PM

Sometimes too much articulation ruins the overall aesthetic of the figure. I'm happy with how these look so far.

Raine24 10-01-2022 06:07 PM

As someone who really hates the look of the double-jointed knees that everyone's settled on, I'm okay with the joints. Yes, the current style is cheap, effective, and cheap (and cheap!) but they're soooo ugly and need ratchets to keep from going all floppy so actually playing with the toys isn't, like, you know, fun? So give me NECA knees all day.

80sforged 10-01-2022 07:06 PM

and PO'd. If I see Toht in the wild I might grab another to pose him with the melting face. Oh the early 80's, those death scenes and the film was still PG.

Nuts how a few cuts to the head 'splosions got it from an R to a PG. And Jaws was PG as well! The pre-PG-13 world must have been a nightmare to navigate for editors.

MeLikeJinx 10-01-2022 07:37 PM

Yes! Indy gets another shot at high profile action figures! 2009/2010 was a bit too early IMO... action figure tech hadn't yet gotten to where it is today. Sucks 3.75 is retro only though... but whatever... And man... if it weren't for the last half of Crystal Skull... the part when they got to the jungle... Indy would have been still been a perfect movie franchise IMO.

Sean C 10-01-2022 07:58 PM

I just don't see them going too deep into the 3 3/4" retro. They have to remember that 2008 stuff flopped overall. But the production costs for 7 POA 4-inchers maybe so low, they might make a whole wave.
I predict another one year Indiana Jones line, you might get 3 waves of 6 inchers. 1 Raiders, 1 new media and 1...probably Last Crusade.

A toy is meant to be fun, and a toy that is limited in articulation is not fun. It's why Hasbro's Star Wars figures were inferior the Figuarts line.

I can't be the only person who thinks Hasbro's double-jointed knees are the least fun thing ever, right? Their old knees were amazing, but the current design is impossible to play with and fug af.

No idea what "fugaf" means, but I disagree. Not doing double jointed knees and arms is unacceptable in 2022. Just look at the new Spider-Man. He is utter perfection and can pull off practically any pose you want.

Meanwhile, my NECA Horror movie monsters are so limited as fuck it's pissing me off. It makes taking pictures of them not very fun. I want to take pictures of them, especially this month, but they've been low on my priority list because there's not much I can do with them.

6 inch Indy figs

Looking forward to this line. I have the 6 Inch Indy figure that was only available at Disney properties. So far from the pics,it looks like Hasbro may have borrowed some parts from that.
Another part of the reveal was the windowless packaging. I am totally ok with this. I have seen that some people are totally against this because they want to see the actual figure before they buy it. Ironically some of these same people pre order their figures off the internet:FROM A PICTURE ON THEIR SCREEN, FOR PETE SAKE! So if it is a picture on the box or one on your screen, its the same thing. I for one am done with preorders, especially Hasbro pre orders. I will wait to these hit the pegs and risk not getting them at retail. If I want it that bad,I will pay the extra couple of bucks online AFTER the figs come out. The one advantage of a windowed box is that you can somewhat check for paint defects or errors but that is only when buying off the peg.
