Jedi wearing armor is a criminally underused thing. This looks so cool.

Awesome! They didn’t just reuse the Ep3 sculpt like they did on Anakin. The expression makes him look like he’s drawing breath in the midst of combat, this will give very different posing options even for those who have the Ep3 version. Really liking the movable eyes and the additional head pivot.

I didn't even notice the no neck sculpt until you mentioned it. Pretty nice, this figure looks great.

I don't remember Obi wearing a cape with that particular armor before.

Yeah the cape and helmet seem to be nods to the Tartakovsky series but the rest of the outfit is from Filoni's.

Teeechnically this 3D Clone Wars Season 1-2 outfit for Obi-Wan (as well as Anakin's) originated in the 2D Tartakovsky series as well, although obviously there were a couple tweaks between the two versions; mainly things like undersuit color and belt style, although it seems like the 2D series implied Obi-Wan's torso armor was a whole Clone chestplate under the outer tunic, while the 3D series changed that to just shoulder/collar armor over the outer tunic, as well as adding bicep armor to create somewhat of a continuum of armor across the wingspan that the 2D one is lacking:

Nice of them to finally release this after teasing it at a convention in 2020. That along with finally getting Padme and AOTC Anakin is making this a nice run of prequel/CW figures lately. The release of this figure however debunks the recent speculation that there's some kind of likeness approval issue holding up the release of a regular AOTC Obi-Wan to go with the AOTC Anakin and Padme we're getting. So hopefully a reveal of AOTC Obi-Wan is coming sometime in 2023 too.
