Movie Maniacs 2023

They're Back. Sort of.

SuperWeird 03-01-2023 11:56 AM

McFarlane’s Movie Maniacs are what got me into buying action figures as an adult. Their bloody Leatherface was the one that really grabbed my attention. Sadly, today most of their toys are cheap and ugly looking, and when it comes to horror figures or just general realism they have been totally outclassed by companies like NECA.

Smasher 03-01-2023 12:29 PM

Rabbits.
I hate rabbits.
The only thing I hate more than a rabbit is two rabbits.

Yeah...
NECA is the Man...
in Horror VS McF for sure ;^)

And if I'm not mistaken, the guys at NECA used to work for Mcfarlane, didn't like the way things were running and made their own company to make the figures they wanted to see. beat mcfarlane at his own game.

My memory might be fuzzy but I recall the folks at NECA saying that the heavy shift of focus towards the sports lines in particular was what killed their joy working at McFarlane.

I'll pick up Ted Lasso. Interesting choice for him and Bugs since they're not from movies nor are they maniacs lol

User897 03-01-2023 08:25 PM

Lame. Todd is just like the woke crowd, pushing people away on purpose. Oh well, more money saved.

What the hell does this even mean

CosmicCreature 03-01-2023 11:33 PM

LOok's made well enough for 6 inch statue for that 24 price .Ill get the Wicked Witch myself but the rest just don't interest me in subject matter .Weird choices for Movie Maniacs . I was personally hoping for figures of horror characters recent and classic . Especially would been nice to have another company making Movie figures with similar price point as neca .

Woke people destroy everything they touch. They hate anything good and try to remake the world in their own twisted image. That's a pretty good summary.

Never heard of this "Ted Lasso." Whatever...

lol wow are you guys fucking serious.

Beyond the woke comments, Ted Lasso is a gigantically popular show.

User897 03-02-2023 01:15 PM

So when these all end up on clearance, what's next, todd?

Sure. 'Woke' types mistake ideology for creativity. Case in point: consider anything touched by the hand of Kathleen Kennedy. It's a broad based sociopolitical phenomenon. It's doing a lot of damage to Hollywood.

Indeed. Especially because that has proven to be SO effective all the other times, lol.

You keep using woke and I don't think you know what it means. If Todd wanted to go woke he wouldn't have included Harry Potter in wave 1. I'm legit amazed at how much that woman has a grip on some people's mind for something she didn't have as much say over movies as people think

She and her entourage, then. The final say-so for some of the worst decisions in the Star Wars franchise was hers. It's an obvious example, like Al Gore or Greta Thunberg as focal points for climate alarmism.

I apologize to the other collectors here for digressing. We're here to talk about collectibles, not politics.

dukefett 05-11-2023 10:20 AM
