Marvel Legends MCU Gladiator Hulk

Cool. Maybe overpriced.

I still love my Diamond Select version. Thought that one kicked a**.

deecee4 05-30-2023 12:23 PM

Yeah, out of all the Hulks from that movie that got made by various companies, the Diamond Select version ended up being the best one, imo.

Zigerlion 05-30-2023 01:50 PM

LOL feels like 10 years too late for the market. Surprised they aren't charging $60 for this. That's how jaded I'm about Hasblow pricing these days.

TheBlueMarvel 05-30-2023 02:56 PM

“Gladiator Hulk?” Pfft…just make comic “World Breaker/Green Scar” Hulk, Hasbro. The movie bandwagon riders have long since jumped off and we comic heads are the only ones left buying…No need to placate people that aren’t paying attention.

ghostbogey 05-30-2023 03:38 PM

I guess...

It's the best smaller scale figure made for the movie. Even the Mezco Ragnorak Hulk looks like trash compared to it The paint apps could be better but for 25-30 dollars at retail upon release its fantastic.

Speak for yourself maybe. There are plenty of MCU Marvel Legend buyers out there. Hence the reason Hasbro keeps making them. Personally I only buy MCU Marvel Legends. I pick up a few comic characters here and there, but for the most part have everyone I need. But I wouldn't say they need to stop making comic characters just because I'm done with them. On an aside, I will not be picking this one up, and it is a bit of a headscratcher. But I guess somebody wants it.

Thanks for the advice, but I always speak for myself. Movie figs have not been moving well for some time now as the MCU continues to try to find its footing over the last 7 to 9 ventures. It's lookin' pretty bleak and if Fiege continues the cookie cutter format, neither FF nor X-Men will avert this creeping disaster. Don't worry, my lamenting this latest rehash will not stop Marvel from demanding a glut of movie tie-ins that can clog the pegs until movie enthusiasts become interested again and liberate them from stores en masse. That said, thoughtful and well delivered comic canon figs haven't lost any luster and quickly become unavailable at retail depending on how well they are executed. It's more than ok for Hasbro to reprioritize the pecking order as the movies, in their current state, are not the engine of this car.

It was a BAF, there will always be people that wanted a BAF but didn't complete it.

Yeah? For a 6 year old movie? Based on the responses here, I'm not so sure there are that many that want this. People on this thread seem to be in agreement that this isn't the ultimate, or even penultimate version.

It's part of the Infinity Saga subline of figures. Guess we might be getting another wave of those

TheBlueMarvel 05-31-2023 04:25 PM

One thing in Hasbro's defense: I do think this is a fair price as I own the BAF and it doesn't disappoint as a hefty hunk of plastic.

I think the use of the "Infinity Saga" name here is just a branding decision to sort of tell the customer that this is older MCU and not the return of that particular subline with the unique packaging and what not. Lately it seems like Marvel Studios is really trying to emphasize that Iron Man through Far From Home was the Infinity Sage and now we're in the Multiverse Saga. I really expect the leaked/rumored upcoming standard wave which features figures from quite a few of the now-older movies to just be labeled as an "Infinity Saga" wave.

I definitely will not pick this up even if it goes on clearance prices. The Ragnarök hype has long since faded and I would rather pick up a classic Planet Hulk/Worldbreaker Hulk than the MCU version of him. Too bad Select's version has a derp face so I'm still holding out.
