Hammond Collection The Gates
|
All I have to say….
“Not” bad…. See you at jurassic world :^3 |
Nothing great. Hope it doesn't fund. Its the wall. That should be $49.99 and everything else is just reuse and or white noise.
|
Cute Play Set ;^)
|
Everything looks great, but yeesh, two hundred & fifty feels steep. Especially when compared to other releases, like last year’s SDCC set.
|
I'd pay for this at around $150 but $250 is just way too much.
EDIT- Wait so it needs 5000 US backers first before going international? Well I guess I can't join in even if I tried. |
Where are the 3.75" people? Mattel has thrown y'all a bone, time to quit lamenting about being forgotten and pony up! The price is definitely steep for the scale, but I think this looks good and 3.75” is ideal for ‘world-building’ sets like this one.
|
It's a great looking set. For $150 I'd be in now. At this price I'm just not so sure. The goat and Lex should be included as is.
|
And the paddock signs should be included too. They're cool looking, but they're not expensive to produce here.
|
The base cost is especially egregious given how much of what’s shown are stretch goals. Namely the T-Rex.
With many previous crowdfunding campaigns, there have been complaints that the base offering isn’t worth the cost, and observations that the cost is meant to account for the stretch goals… this is a strong example of that phenomenon. |

If everything was include up front, Then I’d see more value. Otherwise, the idea of paying $250 for what a poster can accomplish in my display is unsettling.
|
Nice display piece for those of you who collect Jurassic Parks, best of luck to all of you who wants one.
Just curious, I'm not a Mattel guy, but what's the success rate of Mattel Creations crowdfundings? How many have they had and how many funded? |
$250 and it's not even guaranteed to come with the T-Rex? What a ridiculously overpriced cash grab, those goals should all be available at base for that price and additional goals of a crushed Explorer and some other stuff thrown in for stretch goals.

So Mattel likes to make playsets, while Hasbro makes vehicles and giant characters. It'll be interesting to see if this one funds. I wonder how is it received in the Mattel boards. |
I'm like the target audience for this but yeah agree with everyone else, this should be what you get for $250, not all extended tiers. What a shit show, no way this funds.
|
I would get this for my creative beasts studio dino display, but not at $250 for the bare starting pieces. Maximum tier should have been starting tier, with Unlockables being Dennis Nedry, Donald Genarro, and Henry Wu as 3” figures.
Also, should have started it at $150, without electronics, and offered swap-in electronics as a unlockable. |
Not worth even half that price.
|
GATE TO NOWHERE.
Now eventually you might have dinosaurs on your, on your dinosaur tour playset, right? Hello? yes? |
