All I have to say….

“Not” bad….

See you at jurassic world :^3

T0ySick 06-27-2023 09:54 AM

Nothing great. Hope it doesn't fund. Its the wall. That should be $49.99 and everything else is just reuse and or white noise.

ghostbogey 06-27-2023 10:08 AM

Cute Play Set ;^)

Ultra Seven 06-27-2023 11:12 AM

Everything looks great, but yeesh, two hundred & fifty feels steep. Especially when compared to other releases, like last year’s SDCC set.

ronriii 06-27-2023 11:25 AM

I'd pay for this at around $150 but $250 is just way too much.

EDIT- Wait so it needs 5000 US backers first before going international? Well I guess I can't join in even if I tried.

TheBlueMarvel 06-27-2023 11:27 AM

Where are the 3.75" people? Mattel has thrown y'all a bone, time to quit lamenting about being forgotten and pony up! The price is definitely steep for the scale, but I think this looks good and 3.75” is ideal for ‘world-building’ sets like this one.

Krydion 06-27-2023 11:36 AM

It's a great looking set. For $150 I'd be in now. At this price I'm just not so sure. The goat and Lex should be included as is.

Krydion 06-27-2023 11:39 AM

And the paddock signs should be included too. They're cool looking, but they're not expensive to produce here.

Ultra Seven 06-27-2023 11:43 AM

The base cost is especially egregious given how much of what’s shown are stretch goals. Namely the T-Rex.

With many previous crowdfunding campaigns, there have been complaints that the base offering isn’t worth the cost, and observations that the cost is meant to account for the stretch goals… this is a strong example of that phenomenon.

I'm still smarting over the failure to fund the Engine of Vengeance Haslab. I understood the rationale and saw the value, but large toymakers may need to show a bit more up front and take greater risks with competitive price scaling, if they want widescale support.

Comedian 06-27-2023 12:38 PM

If everything was include up front, Then I’d see more value. Otherwise, the idea of paying $250 for what a poster can accomplish in my display is unsettling.

Cyclopswc 06-27-2023 01:23 PM

Nice display piece for those of you who collect Jurassic Parks, best of luck to all of you who wants one.

Just curious, I'm not a Mattel guy, but what's the success rate of Mattel Creations crowdfundings? How many have they had and how many funded?

DtLS 06-27-2023 03:53 PM

$250 and it's not even guaranteed to come with the T-Rex? What a ridiculously overpriced cash grab, those goals should all be available at base for that price and additional goals of a crushed Explorer and some other stuff thrown in for stretch goals.

They had some kind of wrestling ring that funded. Then some wrestling entrance/ stage that didn't. They had the MOTU Origins New Eternia playset which did fund. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Thanks.

So Mattel likes to make playsets, while Hasbro makes vehicles and giant characters.

It'll be interesting to see if this one funds. I wonder how is it received in the Mattel boards.

dukefett 06-28-2023 08:24 AM

I'm like the target audience for this but yeah agree with everyone else, this should be what you get for $250, not all extended tiers. What a shit show, no way this funds.

webz 06-28-2023 08:58 AM

I would get this for my creative beasts studio dino display, but not at $250 for the bare starting pieces. Maximum tier should have been starting tier, with Unlockables being Dennis Nedry, Donald Genarro, and Henry Wu as 3” figures.

Also, should have started it at $150, without electronics, and offered swap-in electronics as a unlockable.

Specter 06-28-2023 09:02 AM

Not worth even half that price.

Sean C 06-28-2023 01:15 PM

GATE TO NOWHERE.

Now eventually you might have dinosaurs on your, on your dinosaur tour playset, right? Hello? yes?
