Marvel Legends The Void Wave - CRYSTAR
|
Can't wait!
|
I'm really curious if anyone under the age of 40 gives any EFFS about Crystar. I had him as a kid, and have always wanted a fresh minty one but never ran across one at a reasonable price complete. So this is awesome for me. But that all stems back to early 80s nostalgia, there has been nothing since then for anyone to latch on to.
Hopefully he doesn't end up at Ollies for 5 bucks. I want some more. And a Deluxe version with bells and whistles. |

Preordered Crystar x2. Now we need Rom and Micronauts and we'll have a nice little unofficial late 70s/early 80s ML sub-line going.

And agreed, I really wish I could paint, because that would be the definitive WW with the right outfit. |

I guess I'm in the minority here about not caring about the crystar figure since I never collected the vintage line and knew nothing of the character before his recent reveal in the Marvel Legends line and all the hype surrounding it.

What color is Namorita? A simple Google shows Namorita in flesh, blue, green, and every shades of teal in between.

I'm happy with my 3.75 Crystar

Would also be in for a Micronauts line, either full Marvel or mixed with the old Takara toys. |
Some things arent for everyone. Many things, for that matter.
Thanks for this wave Hasbro team... |

So I read up recently. Apparently Crystar and that universe's characters have been popping up in various books over the last 8 years or so. 2015 Secret Wars arcs, Weird World stuff, part of Battleworld, one arc had Squadron Supreme involved. So I'm guessing that's where the thought came from initially.
I'm not familiar with the comics beyond what Wikipedia just told me tho. Looks like Weird World is a mash up of fantasy and rando timelines, all the Crystar characters were there, Crystar got jacked up and turned into a bag of crystal rocks, and at some point came back but with one arm. So there's the variant maybe :) Still very deep cut, but at least there's a slight connection to something past the 1982 stuff. Also something I didn't know - Danzig's skull logo was ripped off from a cover of Crystar. Marvel just never did anything about it. |
