Might have to pick up Paz Vizla he was awesome in Mando

Cyclopswc 10-27-2023 10:40 AM

Dammit Hasbro, STOP packing troop builders with single characters!

kollekxon 10-27-2023 11:23 AM

And … its another easy pass.

I guess they think that figures are so expensive, no one army builds anymore!

How about Clone vs Droid. The battle droids still seem under represented.

Cassian is just a repaint, right?
Oh, like I care. At $17 for TVC, it would take something exceptional and ALL NEW for me to even think about preordering.

Dolemite 10-27-2023 11:59 AM

I've been waiting FOREVER for a classic Jack O’Lantern, and this one looks great. Pogo platform, the bombs peg onto his belt, great sculpt and paint...Hasbro knocked this one out of the park.

Now finally just make a Death's Dead 1 figure and all will be good, yes?

Dolemite 10-27-2023 12:00 PM

Man, Hasbro's Star Wars line is the worst. It's just all just the same repaints and rereleases over and over again.

Dolemite 10-27-2023 12:08 PM

Wait, where can you watch the stream? Tony's YouTube link is dead and I can't find it anywhere.

*EDIT* Nevermind, I just found out this was for Pulse Premium members. But that being the case, can someone tell me why the plug comes out of the bottom of Jack's pogo platform? It's not clear what that's for but I assume they explained it in the video.

snake5289 10-27-2023 12:24 PM

Just looking at the pictures I'm guessing so you can stand it upright on a self or something.

I'm down for adding the new Scarlet Spider to my small ML collection. The previous releases are crazy expensive these days.

Twistaz 10-27-2023 12:42 PM

star wars line is so boring and dry now, like all of hasbros lines these days. nothing but over priced reuse and repaints. i find myself barely buying anything cause of it

I think it's so you can balance it on a flat surface or insert a flight base.

Geez.. the Star Wars team is pretty terrible.. they showed 4 "new" figures today.. 3 of them are re-issues and 1 is a repaint. WTF

the vintage Cassian Andor was one that flooded the pegs and went on clearance. Heck, it can still be had in bargain bins or garage sales all around the world. No reason to re-issue this.

Paz Vizla has been released like 3 times in the last couple of years. What is the point?

Mace is a re-issue as well.. all they did was mix two figures by swapping the lower arms... and have the nerve to call this a new outfit. sheesh

seems like this line is running on fumes.

they need to get rid of this design team and follow the style of GiJoe and Marvel Legends articulation

Raine24 10-27-2023 01:38 PM

Joe & GB fans are eating well this stream, though! Now I patiently wait for the VAMP to go up for order....

I think the team simply has their hands tied on this issue. They mentioned during the Indiana Jones reveal awhile back that Disney specifically requests certain articulation for certain lines, with Indy's single-jointed knees given as an example.

ThorOdinson123 10-27-2023 04:05 PM

Paz Vizsla is part of Hasbro's "Deluxe" bullshit so he is $33.99

This guy's always been released as a deluxe in the line, even back when he was just "Heavy Infantry Mandalorian" he was still $30.

they need to start diving deep into the prequels already. 10
years in and still barely scratched the surface, still no updated anakin, still no prequel yoda or palps. come the hell on. it would be the only thing to bring life to this line again as well as more clone wars. the dead old horse that is the OT isnt enough to carry the line anymore. people can only buy the same old repackaged vader so many times.

jwyss234 10-27-2023 09:37 PM

I'm looking forward to seeing more of the Clones of the Republic line. It seems like a good way to release some Clone Wars era designs without taking up slots in the main line.

That's true. The SW team rarely talks about this but they have mentioned in years past that the licensor doesn't want Marvel Legends style articulation on Star Wars figures.

StudioOneTwelve 10-28-2023 07:51 AM

Can't tell you how long I've been waiting for this Phantom Menace Anakin which probably sounds like a joke but I couldn't be more serious. If they were doing a Padme in her Tattooine garb it would be an instant buy.

Really sucks to put limits on their products like that, probably not unrelated to tooling costs for products that just don't sell the way Marvel stuff does. Wish it didn't come down to that and the goal was just a great product.

I think limiting the articulation actually helps the Star Wars and Indy figures. Most of those characters wear jackets, shirts with baggy sleeves, or loose fitting pants. Limiting the articulation to a single joint gives it a more natural appearance whereas a double joint is too wide and unnatural looking. Even the SH Figuarts Star Wars figures use single joints. It just comes down to how well the joint is designed and the ROM it offers.

Indy doesn't have his knees bent as much as Daredevil but these two images still illustrate my point about the double joints looking unnatural with baggy clothing.

finally some prequel stuff. its just too bad anakin looks too clean and barely has paint and padmes face looks weird and sculpt isntthat great. the paint issue bothers me more than anything at th4s point though.

THIS. I hate the look of modern double-joints and for most characters would give them up to get a cleaner look like NECA gives. I saw some pics of the new Ahsoka knees and they look a lot better than I thought they'd pull off thanks to that single-joint design.

I think for mass-release double-joints the best example is the hinged knee design Hasbro used for their Spider-Man 3 figures, but it's been 15 years now and they haven't touched them since, presumably because it uses like three parts instead of one to accomplish the same thing. Barring development of a new style, an update to that design would be my ideal for a mass market toy.

Harbinger 10-28-2023 01:49 PM

Man why are they making teen padme and preteen anakin? No one i ‘now really wants these versions.

snake5289 10-28-2023 02:01 PM

Finally getting around to VC Rebels characters. About time man.

They have been some of the most asked for Black Series figures for years.
