Fort Amy (Wooden Build)
I had some previous woodworking objects constructed which I no longer used (a small bookshelf etc), so I re-used whatever wood I had lying around to create this little fort when I was housebound a few weeks back in winter.
I had ordered wood from a company called: 'Wickes', but the delivery guy left the wood sitting at the side of my house in the rain - ruining it (crazy times we live); so I sent the wood back. So this fort was really was thrown together with very little planning as I was working with pre-cut peices and just had to make use of what I had, but it has turned out ok and will serve my needs for it's intended purpose. I could have made it look more elaborate by using plastics/foams etc; but I prefer using natural resources as much as possible for health reasons and require a solid build The fort is incomplete, as I still have to add an outside garage (where machines/vehicles) are repaired and a laser cannot on the battlements... I'll update it soon and post photos here. 'Fort Amy' is a very simple wooden build, created entirely by manual tools (aside from a jigsaw to cut out the windows), and a printer to print the stickers. The fort features a landing pad for airships, various control panel, fireplace, bed, chairs, meetings table (to address the warriors!), library, watchtower, lifts on every level (which are just stickers! (I wanted to save room)), a prison, and I'm currently working on the outside garage as I stated, and also a laser cannon for the battlements. The fort was painted with student-quality acrylic artist paints and is a solid contraption. I've been working on it now and then for about a month - an hour or so here and there. Just a reminder from He-man himself to anyone building their own stuff... "SAFETY FIRST!!! - It's all too easy to get a chip of wood or metal fragment in your eye from sawdust or something breaking. You will never see Duncan (Man-at-arms) without his protective clothes and goggles! And be wary of breathing in wood that has been: 'treated', glues, paints and other chemicals". Lol, thanks for reading. |
This looks cool, great work.
