Littlest Pet Shop Fans?

My wife absolutely adores the LPS turtles. I've got her pretty much every one released in the U.S. Even the multi-pack turtles. Do we have other LPS fans here? Are people interested in LPS news and such?

vadersquest 12-13-2008 10:15 PM

I am sure there are a few lurkers/ members who like this toy line. I know the little one liked this stuff but we would not buy any for her as we felt she was too young.

I have a 7 year old who LOVES LPS. Not only the figures but the playsets and the dolls. Being as Dad likes to shop for toys for himself and I usually take her w/me I get to see her light up at the LPS aisle. Therefore I have become quite knowledgeable with them. I believe she has a Turtle one from the Target exclusive single packs that are from the front registers. Have you seen them?

Flint 12-13-2008 10:43 PM

I remember when they first came out years ago. But now they look kind of anime. But the kids love em so who's to argue.

darthdoug 12-13-2008 10:48 PM

I don't get it. The girl toys are so inferior. I mean at least give the LPS more than one point of articulation! Barbie needs to be able to grip the accessories she comes with (give her Swivel Arm Battle grip). My little pony has no articulation either. I'd love to see hasbro come out with a 25th GI Joe style of articulations for any type of toy line. Say give Tinkerbell and all her fairy princesses the same articulation as the boy's toy lines.

Yeah, I got my wife one of those.

Also, I think the reason girls toys are less "articulated" than boys toys is that girls toys are usually geared towards a much younger audience. For the most part, young girls begin to lose interest in toys and such at a younger age than boys. So while boys tend to move onto bigger and better toys, young girls move onto jewelry, makeup, etc.

But boys move into Skateboards, plastic guns & video games too.

My mom tells me my 6 year old niece loves these things, I'm probably gonna pick them up as a last minute present for her.. But truth be told I've never looked at them before.

Flint 12-20-2008 09:54 PM

If they looked more like real animals, they might make good accessories for dios and such.

So Joe, how about some pictures from your wife's collection?

Her stuff is spread throughout the house, which is kind of a mess right now with getting ready for Christmas. Maybe after the holiday's.

this will be the only time i will ever admit this.

i bought the "Punkiest Pet" set of three.
i thought they were cool :)

QueenoftheDolls 10-28-2009 10:28 PM

I would like to find some of the original LPS toys. I have the hamsters and they are awesome. The new ones just aren't as cool. I don't know about the others but the hamsters are great for pairing with other dolls.

Johnnyakiba 10-28-2009 10:43 PM

Older sister was a fan when she was younger. Making me play with her....the memories. She had alot of the smaller sets that opened up like my much boyish "MIGHT MAX"' But I have not really looked at the new one's. How popular are these? I do not know any 10 year olds, thank god, so I would not know. Advertising is all over for these and I am glad that there is something other than dolls and babies for girls to play with. More power to ya.

My wife buys every new one that comes out except for some of the repaints. She's anxiously anticipating a mail-away elephant right now. We check the LPS aisle everytime we make a GI Joe/Marvel Universe run.

Joe Moore 10-29-2009 05:01 AM

My wife still buys every new turtle that comes out. Repaint, repack, box sets, everything.
