SDCC Marvel Universe WWII Cap. America Review
8 Attachment(s)
The mailman delivered my SDCC Marvel Universe WWII Ultimate Captain America to me today, and I couldn't be happier with him. When I first heard Hasbro was making yet another Captain America, I groaned, but now that I have him in hand, he is hands down the best Cap we've gotten so far, and quite possibly the best MU figure.
The breakdown: Captain America is designed in his WWII costume. He comes with a removable helmet and webgear (though I didn't try to remove it since it seemed the seams were glued together), a gun and his trademark shield, which comes with elastics like the first MU Captain America release, thus allowing you to place the shield on his back. Attachment 4135 Attachment 4136 The sculpt itself is amazing, but the real beauty is in the architecture of the figure. Cap comes with all new articulation. He has the standard shoulder, elbow, wrist, swivel torso, double jointed knees, swivel biceps, swivel legs just below the knees, and he sports the Wolverine Origins style ball jointed hips. What sets him apart are the wrists, which sport the Clone Wars style pegs that allow the wrist to not only swivel, but position at various angles to hold guns. And if you notice, the joint for the neck is different as well. Attachment 4137 The ball jointed peg actually moves forward and backwards, allowing the figure to look up and down! Attachment 4138 Attachment 4139 Finally, the ankle has new articulation as well. Instead of just allowing the foot to move the traditional up and down, the ankle joint is a peg. You can't see it very well here, but the peg is on a 45 degree angle from the bottom of the leg. This allows the foot to be moved side to side for better poses! Attachment 4140 Attachment 4141 Overall, this is a FANTASTIC figure. The articulation blows anything else at this scale out of the water. Hasbro really outdid themselves this time! Attachment 4142 |

SWEET! Between you and Symbyote I'm pumped to get this! I don't care that I payed 25$ for him! I AM EXCITED!!! I even have an AK for him, so I can recreate that great picture from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

Very cool run down. Makes him even more tempting, though I wasn't planning to open him until now if I got him!

I have to admit my only disapointment with this is that the mask isn't removable but it'd probably create wayyy too many moving parts for comfort. I can't wait to get this figure! Come on mail man get your sh*t together!

You're right, there would have been way too many moving parts. In package, there's actually a clear plastic piece that covers the whole head to prevent stuff from moving around too much. As a toy, the mask would have been too much.
