The Power Rangers and Super Sentai Thread
1 Attachment(s)
As a Power Rangers fan, I decided to make a thread discussing both Power Rangers and Super Sentai toys. It's MORPHIN' TIME! Or, HENSHIN!
What are Power Rangers? Five (or three, depends on which series) teens morph into brightly-colored spandex-wearin' superheroes that beat up monsters that threaten their world. And when the going gets tough, the Power Rangers call upon their Zords when the monsters grow bigger! The Zords combine to form a super robot called the Megazord, for some BADASS GIANT ROBOT ON GIANT MONSTER ACTION! :D As for Super Sentai, it's more or less the same. I may need someone to tell me what Super Sentai is about. I know what it is, I'm just too lazy to post it. |
Well I loved the MMPR (original) line and just the beginning of Zeo the most but I am always fascinated with the Zords.
The RPM series figures are on the verge of releasing now as well |
I just LOVED the original Megazord. I'm glad Bandai's releasing a new one, even if it is bit stylish.

rpm's toys are gonna rock(hopefully)
i just want to know what the soul chips/cell chips sound like, i cant imagine any other voice saying" GETA GETA" or " doru doru". of course they will change the dialogue but still. you guys know what i mean ;) |
BTW, does anyone know when the Mighty Morphin' Megazord is coming out? Because I REALLY want this figure now, just for the nostalgia.
|
it should be in stores any day now along with the rpm toys ... but does anyone have the rpm megazord? really looking foward to getting one myself
er... my stores dont have them in stock yet but they have been seen in store elswhere |
Comparison of the High Octane Megazord vs the DX Engine-Oh:
High Octane Megazord vs Engineoh Review (Lots of pictures!) - RangerBoard Bandai of America didn't win, this year. :O |
Well, it's certainly not as disastrous as Operation Overdrive. Somehow, I almost, almost like it a bit more than Engine-Oh. I think it's the eyelids making the eyes less giant and conspicuous, and $25 is a palatable price tag. Still, I'd never get either, so what do I know?
Sucks for fans that the electronics (and cell chips) are totally gutted. |
Yeah, I do want to give it props for having nicer looking robot fists. That's all I got though. XD
|
great, thanks for that link, i think ill buy it because i doubt ill ever get the go-onger version :\
|
*Sigh* Well, as Chosen said it, it's not as bad as Operation Overdrive. We never even got a Flashpoint Megazord here in the states.
|
I keep hoping Bandai decides to make a SOC MMPR Megazord(I keep forgetting the sentai name for it).

I honestly have an easier time remembering them by their sentai names than their megazord prefixes, dunno why. |

Maybe if we were getting more of those imported SOCs that Toynami had promised to distribute. What the heck happened there? Someone else had to actually mention it to me, but does the style of the Retrofire Megazords remind anyone else of the CMs Corp Mecha Action Series figure style? I definitely like them enough that I was tempted by the $30 shipped BIN, but I don't want to pull another Super Legends and pay secondary market money on cheap figures, plus they have their own unique assortment. |
I heard the Retrofire(fully articulated 5" Megazord) figures are out!
|
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present:

The Mecha Action series is mostly 'show accurate' in their stylisations. Maybe some more detailing here and there but not overly different to the show. But the Retrofire MMPR Megazord/Daisyujin is too different. I thought it would be a poseable version of the show's Megazord :(.
|
wow, those candy toys are more posable than the full size version
|
Just found a review for the Retrofire zords. Click here to check them out!
What is with the inconsistent articulation? |
I'm guessing Bandai budgeted out the parts allotment badly or something. Doesn't that kind of thing happen to Star Wars figures sometimes too? Like, they don't have the budget to have two elbow joints, so one's posable while the other's fixed?
(unless that stopped happening years ago, haha) |
Reminds me of how Wheeljack from Transformers Armada rotated on one wrist but not the other. Thought that kind of thing was history now, though.
|
Ah, yes, Power Rangers. I'm hoping to get back into toy collecting for Power Rangers this year, especially with these new figures and only one mainline Megazord line this year. I'm hoping- and it looks like- the toyline will be much better than previous years.
I also did some exploring into 2009 Super Sentai and getting caught up with the finale of Jungle Fury. Even though I am not a full-time fan, I still love my Power Rangers. |

Same deal puzzles me with these retrofire zords. At the end of the day, the candy toys reign supreme. |
