G.I. Joe Movie Rise Of Cobra First Look At Packaging

Da_Last_2_Walk 12-30-2008 04:57 PM

Great news!

scarecrow 12-30-2008 05:26 PM

I'm not really into naysaying about this movie, but those figures kind of look ugly...

I'm sure Snake-Eyes will look just fine though, which is all I care about:)

Ktulu 12-30-2008 07:50 PM

Not much special to it eh, but I suppose it does what it has to do

Joe Moore 12-30-2008 08:23 PM

The packaging is a bit on the plain side. After the excellent packaging that's been on the store shelves, I expected something a bit more interesting.

Not really much of a G.I. Joe guy, but as a designer, I love to look at the packaging of the figures.

Syn3sthesia 12-30-2008 08:24 PM

Gonna have to hold it in my hands and see what's so special about it. Is a maybe right now.

As a GI Joe guy, I fully concur with this statement.

The whole reason that I got so huge into GI Joe was the retro packaging. To this day I love seeing those vintage style cards on the shelves.

While I do understand the Movie wants to establish its own look, but, I really feel this is on the bland side as well.

Ktulu 12-31-2008 12:46 AM

It'd be better if maybe the shape of the box was more interesting. Hasbro usually does a great job with interesting shapes for the TF line, you'd think some of that savvy would be used here.

I would've also had the brand name at the top, personally.

Maybe the other releases will have a little more to them?

Flint 12-31-2008 05:22 PM

Simple but I like it. It's like they say, sometimes less is more.

scarecrow 12-31-2008 05:25 PM

Call me crazy but I just don't like that GI Joe logo. When I first posted I was more critiquing the figures, and the package is kind of boring but I think it will look cooler in person.

Buzzbeak 01-01-2009 12:07 AM

I'm with the majority here, the IGs look bland. But if you wanted to troop build them that's a good pack.

Packaging sucks

figures suck

Looks a little Episode 1 to me. MEH!
