Upcoming MU style Figures in Movie Lines

There seem to be a few 'figures I'd like' threads going at the moment, I've been looking at the list of Marvel films coming out over the next few years, and it got me thinking about what figures that fit in with Marvel Universe we might get, if they continue with the Movie/Comic split of figures from the XMO and Iron Man 2 lines.

Thor

If Marvel Universe Loki is only available with the Frost Giant, then those of us who can't get the Giant Battle figures could well get him in this line, plus maybe Odin.

X-men: New Class

I guess with this we could get absolutely any mutants (ala Iceman in XMO), Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost should be dead certs though. Hopefully Prof X as well, and maybe the likes of Beast and Rogue.

Captain America

Should get a new and improved Red Skull (wasn't the SDCC one a GI Joe remold?)

Ghost Rider 2

Not sure about the characters, but a bike for Ghost Rider seems highly likely.

Avengers

Maybe, finally, a mass release Nick Fury. (Is one actually coming out for the Iron Man 2 line!?) It seems that Hulk will be the 'villain' in this film, but I guess they could throw a few Avengers villains into this line.

Spider-Man 4

There's been no confirmation on the villain yet, but Lizard seems to be mentioned as the most likely, so hopefully he'll get a figure.

Some of these characters popped up in people's wish lists, so I reckon you might just get some figures that you want!

i really hope hasbro continues with the movie / comic spilt. i am already saving up the cash for thor and cap, i really want a decent red skull (the sdcc one was indiana jones remold) . and you right with nick fury being in cap america we should see a mass release in a single pack, i just hoping for some of the shield agents from the thor movie line.

snake5289 09-22-2010 09:39 AM

I'd like a Red Skull and Some good Ghost Rider figures

DrewBlank 09-22-2010 09:59 AM

I don't care what Thor brings, but if there aren't figures of the Warriors Three or Kurse by next Christmas, Kenneth Branagh owes me eight bucks.

I'd also like to see some of Captain America's supporting characters, like maybe Nomad or Falcon, or even Batroc and Diamondback.

And what about Deadpool? He ought to be good for a Lady Deadpool, a Bob the Hydra Goon and a Headpool pack-in accessory.

brianregan09 09-22-2010 11:24 AM

An Ultimate Nick Fury figure is out in the Ironman 2 line that comes in a four pack with an Iron man figure and two Drones from the movie, Yeah i hope they do a regular Fury though and some suited shield agents like in the Iron Man movies

Deadpool is an interesting one too should it get made Tigershark is a figure i'd like to see be in it in MU or possibly a movie line, Bad thing is i don't see Deadpool getting made anytime soon unfortunatley

I would love to see an Avengers box set of cap,Ironman, hawkeye, thor, vision,Wasp, and a large scale goliath or Hulk to complete it, and then release other side characters. I don't need 10 hulks or thors or caps but 1-2 new version would be cool, also if they released a 6'' scale like the walmart exclusives would be sweet

There is also talk of a Dr. Strange movie as well as an Iron Fist movie

Doctor Strange (2012)

Odin, Thor, And loki are already confirmed as figures for the thor toyline.

It's X-Men: First Class, not new class, new class if made is an entirely different feature, that's post X3. First class is an origins piece, so the comic series will probably reflect as such, but yeah is open to any and all X-Verse characters.

The cap movie line should feature of course cap, a new red skull, arnim zola, Bucky, union jack, and more. The SDCC red skull used an indiana jones figure body.

Ghost Rider 2 is still a ways out, but yup, will probably feature all kinds of goodies like Vengence and the various Ghost rider renditions. (COME ON CYBER PUNK DANIEL KETCH RIDER!) Maybe even ghost rider 2099.

Avengers will feature a robust cast, with some having new costumes like Captain america will. The villian is still unknown, but fighting the hulk will be part of the feature, just not the main villian. The toyline could feature many of the comic regular villians though, including Grim Reaper, Kang, and more.

Spider-Man 4 is an origins mess, so this could go anywhere with a toyline. Much like their spidey classics line, in-spite of whoever the villian is(which sadly includes a new build up to a green goblin arc, cause we really need another. =/ ), the comic series can be pretty robust from anti-venom to vulture, Doc ock, and more. Seriously though, making Raimi leave, and starting over? Worst mistake ever. Screw Sony. I want Raimi's Vulture/Blackcat 4th movie!

And a black Widow movie is in talks now too. As well as Small Faces (runaways), and more. Hollywood right now is just pumping these babies out left and right. But many of these won't be major events like the Avengers line of films is, or the X-Verse films. So how wide their toyline is, or if they even get one, is up for debate.

Truuee. However, I feel like the closer they tie in these films with the upcoming popular ones such as Iron Man, Avengers, Thor, Cap etc, would depend on how they market it and subsequently if a toyline emerges.

At the very least, Hasbro might be smart and have their figures in MU correlate with the movies (like featuring Dr Strange in MU etc etc etc). ORRRR they could pull a Marvel Legends and just have movie figures within Marvel Universe but who knows...

Ok so for my movie line predictions/wants

It primarily comes from Captain America....
1. AN ACCURATE COMIC VERSION CAPTAIN AMERICA. Regal dark blueish not neon.
2. Crossbones, such an intricate Cap villian
3. Sharon Carter, Cap's old squeeze comme onnnn
4. Red Skull, no brainer here, classic comic version and modern version would be cool....
5. US Agent, because he would be a simple repaint and actually would kind of be a desired character

Thor
1. Warriors Three set, badasssss
2. Asgaardian Warrior, to army build
3. Destroyer, we've seen a toy for this but I'd like a comic version
4. Hercules, this is a gamble. A god like toon who could be easily done with all the parts they are going to be using for this line. Will it be done? Probably not....

True but I was talking about ones that would fit in with Marvel Universe - comic accurate figures, I thought the ones we saw at SDCC were Movie figures.

I forgot about the Deadpool movie - Deadpool Corps would be cool!
