WalMart increases prices

I was just at Walmart. I was disgusted to see they marked up their singles from $6.94 to $7.46.

lars573 01-09-2009 09:49 PM

My heart bleeds. On a brighter note HBC cut the price of Star Wars from $9.99 to $9.47.

vadersquest 01-09-2009 09:49 PM

Well, we knew it was going to happen. I hear the Joes are going to go up as well.

STLHBKid 06-30-2009 05:23 PM

Obviously someone didn't get the "FALLING PRICES" idea in the walmart toy dept...

ludovicotek 06-30-2009 05:29 PM

That blows. I was disgusted when I saw the SW Battlepacks for $24.99.

coyote31770 06-30-2009 06:23 PM

I thought the 3.34" figures where made to be cheaper.

Yeah. Cheaper for them to produce, but not necessarily for us to buy.

Autobot_Goldbug 06-30-2009 07:59 PM

Well the movie G.I. Joe figures are going to be $7.88.

sparkhunter 07-01-2009 06:03 AM

Shopko has transformers voyagers for 31.00 deluxe are almost 15

ludovicotek 07-01-2009 07:11 AM

Man, I guess 8 bucks is the new standard for 3.75" figures. I remember being a kid in the 80's and buying G.I. Joes for about $1.50 each. Those were the days.

trebleshot 07-01-2009 07:13 AM

I'm assuming the poll question refers to the 3.75" figures only? Because that's how I answered it.

Granted, I haven't bought any 3.75" SW figures in a very long time. But if you were asking about SW merch in general, then I would have to say yes as long as Hasbro continues to put out OT SWTFs (barring redecos).

Uh, what does that have to do with this thread?

I know what you mean, saw one @ K-Mart today.

Yeah, I recall buying Jawas for $2.00 each @ Woolworths.

vadersquest 07-02-2009 10:11 PM

My days are limited with SW collecting. The 30th was super cool but Legacy has been sluggish to say the least. I will always be a SW nerd but I think the selection this year and the price point has taken it's toll. I yearn for the days of $5.99 for sure.
