Blackest Night Figures for preorder!!

DC Direct just announced the next wave of Green Lantern figures. They're going to be based on the Blackest Night Event.

Cavbeast 01-17-2009 07:26 AM

oh my stars and garters....Saint Walker and Atrocitus? Damn this is way i still buy DC Direct even thought the DCU Classics are just as good.

blastMONKEY 01-17-2009 08:24 AM

This wave is making me all sorts of excited.

jourdo 01-17-2009 10:10 PM

This is all sorts of awesome. Glad to see this line is still going. Any speculation on who the shadowed guy it?

Darkravager 01-17-2009 11:25 PM

If you check out CornerStoreComics & AmazingToyz :: home :: Action Figures & Collectibles and check the preorder page for these, it'll tell you. I chose not to say it here lest it spoil people.

I can't believe Ch'p is the one that's shadowed out!!! Oops.. Sorry guys, spoiled it.

Jarodimus 01-18-2009 08:31 AM

Holy crap, those DO look good. Guess my DCD days aren't done, after all.

Noooooooo! Zombie Ch'p!! :(

EDIT: Yes, I know that was a joke.

I'm not going to look at the preorder page, as I don't want to be spoiled.

However, looking at that silhouette, with the short sleeves... crap. They're zombifying Conner, aren't they?

I wish they would make a good figure of Connor. Even though he's dead, he looked really cool.

Jarodimus 01-20-2009 05:52 PM

Crap. Accidentally saw the full listing today, spoiler and all.

The identity of the Black Lantern is a very interesting choice... and that's all I'll say.

Flint 01-20-2009 06:16 PM

I had to peek and I agree, interesting choice. WHo would have thought it would be G'Nort.

MarkMilton 01-20-2009 08:28 PM

yeah, this is the first time i've seen a spoiler for a story come from the toyline that it's connected to do it first.

but i do like em.

No... It's Ch'p. Wait you're right. That totally is G'nort.

Actually I'm not surprised that DC chose this characters, what I'm more interested in is who will join said character. It seems like Final Crisis has been nothing but shock crap and frankly the build up hasn't been worth my reading.

I dont know what is better, the first wave or the second. That glimse of the second wave is really nice as well.

Jarodimus 01-21-2009 12:59 PM

Anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled on the identity of the first Black Lantern: don't read the news item on the main page of this site!

Also, the Black Lantern in wave 2 seems pretty obvious from the shape of the head and collar. :(

Help me out a little here...how do these figs compare to the DCU Classics line.

Is it the same style of articulation? same size?

They are the same style and size, but do not have the same amount of articulation.

These figures tend to have the most basic kind of articulation... They're a little bit better than most McFarlane toys.

MSG Corben 01-22-2009 08:23 PM

I love the sculpts, but I really don't care much for these characters. I can't wait for the comics, but I'll pass on the figs.

Better QC than the DCU Classics line. I've only had one ankle problem with Parallax from that line, where as my DCU collection is plagues by sloppy paint, loose joints, etc.

I'll be preordering these for sure... and any others they throw my way.
