Wolverine roleplay claws reappearing?

I was at Walmart last night and came across almost 8 cases of the Wolverine "Battle Claws" (ie, the roleplay glove/claw thing) from the 2009 Wolverine line.

I did not check the price, but considering the items are no longer produced, I'm wondering if Walmart picked up some overstock from Hasbro for the holiday season (like the Universe 2.0 carded Transformers basics stores are getting for $4).

So, hooray?

decepticon_mark 11-15-2010 04:36 PM

Saw them today as well. Already clogging an endcap.

Shin Densetsu 11-15-2010 10:01 PM

Must be overstock from last year. Gotta admit though, those are some long ass claws. I thought Hasbro was going to go the conservative-oh god-kids-might-hurt-dem-selbs route and make short stumpy claws that looked like bear mittens.

trebleshot 11-16-2010 06:56 AM

Heh, if they go on clearance again, I might pick up a pair this time. Would be fun to have those in the office at work as something silly to play with while watching progress bars get filled up.

Boba Fettuccini 09-10-2011 02:31 AM

thechris 09-10-2011 02:44 AM

Yeah, I saw these too. They're weak, man. I'm too old for that crap.

Boba Fettuccini 09-10-2011 02:47 AM

Toys R Us had tons of em. I'm heading out for my fall clothing run tomorrow so I'll see if I can stop in and snap a pic.

I might have to disagree especially when it comes to crap like Barney & Teletubbies, just saying :)

miketime 09-10-2011 06:42 AM

Yes what 30 year old wants to get caught playing with these things in public. If they came out 15 years ago maybe.

D00MTR0N 09-10-2011 06:45 AM

send em to ross.

behindthemask 09-10-2011 08:31 AM

personally these are great for kids or Halloween accessories, and or props to display on your bookshelf, but not great for your average fan/adult. I think 6 streaknives look better haha. I've seen people take a wooden dowel, hollow out pegs and cement real steal blades in, which look awesome. This not so much.

iLegends73 09-10-2011 08:43 AM

didnt someone doin cosplay make a real working pair of wolvie claws?

quinten182 09-10-2011 07:02 PM

Yeah you can find it on youtube. Along with a real Iron Man hand laser. They're pretty sweet.

This is off topic a bit, but if you haven't seen it.. this is hilarious.

Exactly, why was this thread rebumped after almost a year anyway?

No idea, I believe that would be a question for Mr. Pool. LOL.

These are actually pretty sweet... if I had em I'd rip the stupid skulls off em, clean em down to bare metal/plastic, get 2 large tubs and fill it full of formaldehyde and stick the claws in, as if I killed Wolverine and these are the remains.

DogFashionDisco 09-10-2011 10:18 PM

Not too long ago they were pretty easy to find in Wal-Mart clearance aisles in St. Louis, but one day they just disappeared altogether. I asked about it and a manager told me that they pack up stuff like that and ship it to other stores, so you're probably looking at St. Louis' unwanted Wolverine claws.
