DCUC Wave 16 Carded

These will be my first DCUC figures - I'm getting them purely because I really enjoyed the Knightfall storyline.

Can't wait!

I'm so happy that finally they are using the Modern Blue Bettle body for Robin, Creeper, and Mercury. That body is the best of the line. The double jointed elbows and knees are a must! I'm getting this entire wave!

at 1st we only wanted Creeper and Mercury but then we noticed that the CnC was Bane........*sigh* so now we have to get them all as well.

Didn't Jason Todd wear almost exactly the same outfit as Robin, as Grayson?
If they were going to go through the trouble of making a variant ALL NEW headsculpt for Robin, why not go ahead and make the variant be Jason Todd? You know, kill two birds with one stone? It doesn't make much sense, to me.

But then this is also the same company who felt that Sinestro's classic outfit is more widely desired and better recognized than his Sinestro Corps outfit.

I am happy to see them scale the line back down to a more reasonable 6 figures, It was always a potshot as to what figure ended up with the stand. Often times it was one of the few figures of a wave I wanted that did. (I was lucky enough that Tyr was the stand figure in wave 14, as I did *not* want him at all)
Though I hope the reissue "Allstar" subline continues, and pumps out some reissues for popular rare figures.

I may be wrong but I thought the robin that comes in the two pack was jason todd. though I would use him as BTAS Dick

Was it? I never paid attention. I had two Batmen and Tim Drake's Robin, who's the version I care about, so I've never even looked.
I automatically assumed that since it was Batman, and a more classic styled Robit, that it was Dick.
My bad if was wrong.

rob_charb 12-05-2010 08:35 AM

If you're talking about the Dynamic Duo two-pack, that's Tim. An inaccurate version of Tim's first Robin suit, but Tim none the less.

Jason did indeed wear the same Robin outfit as Dick. Just do a quick Google search for Jason Todd death and you'll see.

Ah I remember now.

Except they're not actually using the same body, just the same articulation.

Apparently, the AzBat has double-jointed knees as well. Sweet.

jimster2010 12-06-2010 10:02 AM

I got to have these becuase they are Batman - related. I wonder if this will be a trend where upcoming waves focus more or less on 1 of the flagship characters. Anyway, things are looking good for this wave to ship next month. Then I'm taking a breather from the DCUC unless they release a Poison Ivy, Samaurai, or Jay Garrick Flash.

It does, and I like the double jointed knees, they don't "break" the sculpt.

If I can *find* Azrael, he will be the first DCUC figure I actually buy.

Of course, if I had actually found any of the figs from this line that I wanted, I'd have a pretty decent collection by now.

Prowl 2009 12-21-2010 12:02 PM

Azrael is first on my list from this line. Yeah, Knightfall wasn't the best of Batman stories, but it's one of my personal favourites from my childhood regardless. I am also really excited about Jonah Hex! :D

Super_Megatron 12-21-2010 12:05 PM

I'm only interested in Robin and the Riddler for my Super Powers collection, but Bane looks really cool.

How the hell can you pass up Azbats? Dude beat the shit out of Bane and went ape! My favorite Batman costume design too.

It's so awesome a design that he (and Bane) will be pretty much my only 6" scale figures!

I'm hoping to be able to recreate the pose from the comic where Bane is on his knees and Azbats is holding him by the vest.

So 90's. :D

I love the design, too. I'm trying to save up enough cash to get the wave as a birthday gift to myself next month. :D
