WM no longer going to sell toy collectables
military collectors unite....we will not go down with out a fight
I have received information that WM is going to do away with military related collectibles and focus their toy department on toddlers....I have done all my research and contacted folks at WM who ave said this is true...... it seems that WM is going to give 21st the axe.........one of my contacts say that there is no demand and that they don't think there is a strong enough fan base to justify this hobby. WE need to shout at them and shout at them loud make your self heard and heard often. this is also not about 1/18th but all the other ones as well... We must do something and we must do something now!!!!!! put your differences aside if you are in the admirals category I also have a Goodies for you I have received the email from a close E-etailer...tell every one you know..post them on all websites you belong too.... the management at WM Andrew.Tucker at wal-mart.com Laura.Phillips at wal-mart.com send both of the emails and tell them you want your gi Jose and 1/18th military collectibles ie 21st century toys to stay in the store |
Seems like, at least Target is giving 1/18th and other military scales a chance. Same with TRU.

the fact that WM wants to get rid of most collectible toys should be troubling itself.....GI Joe's sales have flat lined..transformers not doing so hot...hot wheels ....it not just 21st century toys but even the 1/18th die cast car collectors |

It actually might be a good thing for Target, if they one of the only ones selling the product. Especially if there is a strong following. I mean they're selling it already, so now they'll sell more because fans will no other place.

there's always very low supply on the military collectibles line on wal-mart.
heck, they don't even occupy that much of space.... so it's not like they're using the whole aisle. |

Also, Target tends to go in their own direction separate from Walmart. While 21st is dying at Walmart, Target went ahead and got new assortments of FOV models, figures, increased the pegs for G.I.Joes, and also got some military figures from Hoogaloo. I should also add; military fantasy tends to sell better at retail than realistic 1/18 scale military toys. G.I. Joe typically outsells 1/18 scale military toys. I'm not stating a preference over neither, but Joe has more mass appeal due to brand recognition and being catered to kids and collectors, which it has done for years, while 1/18 scale military typically caters primarily to us. Especially with the movie coming out in summer and retailers already gearing up for the onslaught of goods, I doubt G.I. Joe will be leaving Walmart anytime soon. |
