Anyone getting the new dc universe game? I'll be getting it for PS3.

I'm waiting to see reviews, it has a LOT of potential. Hopefully it will turn out to be fun.

Ya I have the same feeling about it too. I used to play city of heroes waaay back. The artwork is all jim lee so visually the game should be cool. We'll see how the gameplay is rated.

Unless there's a release on Wii, then nope.
And even then, I'd have to think hard about it. I rarely stick with video games long enough to make it to the first boss. So any game that's not a Pokemon color, usually ends up being a waist of money I could have used to buy comicbooks with.

Same here. For now, I'm content with Donkey Kong Returns. :)

I think I may pick it up tonight, for ps3. Still trying to decide...

Alright, I got my copy in for the PS3. So far, the game starts off good. I like the character creation. Gameplay seems good and I like the real time action fighting. I'm still getting used to the menus and stuff. So far so good. It does take FOREVER to do the initial download though.

Hey guys after the trial period is over, how much do you have to pay? I didn't know this was subscription based until today.

I know! It did take forever, but finally got in game! I spent too long on character customizing. Its a pretty neat game, Im enjoying it.
14.99 a month.

You *have* to play the game online? AND pay to do so? That sucks. Huge pass, even if a wii version comes out.

Like any mmo you have to pay a monthly subscription, keep the servers up and running. From what I did on city of heroes is that it is constantly maintained and new updates are always added. I would think that since there is a monthly subscription, any update info goes with it, aside from the damn download update time. Overall, I am pretty impressed with the game, if your willing to pay the 15 a month to do so.

I didn't know it was an MMO. That kills my interest completely.

Having played CoX for 3 years and Champions for almost a year, I had high hopes for it. For me it fell a little short. The previous 2 had better toon builders and power selections. If you haven't played either of those then I think DC is a good intro to this genre. They do plan on having updates every 2 months or so which will be good if they can keep that schedule.

Can you play as an actual member of the dcu or do you have to your own. Character

You create your own superhero, but you can play as those iconic characters the what they call Legends PVP. So you can control Batman, or Joker, or Robin, or one of many others and do various objective based gametypes.
