Which MU toys are considered rare?

I wanted to know, Which toys aere rare in the Marvel Universe line. The problem I have is that most figures considered rare in other countries, come in millions to mine. I hope you guys can help me with my doubt.

brianregan09 01-30-2011 11:19 AM

Jean Grey, Bullseye, Daredevil, Nick fury, X force Archangel, Vision, Warpath and Thanos i'd say would be the rarest

behindthemask 01-30-2011 12:44 PM

Bullseye, silver surfer for me.. neways.. jean grey, warpath, variants can be tricky for most ie fantastic 4, spider man, submariner variant, the box sets of 3packs and the 70th anniversary set is pretty rare.. the mailout nick fury and archangel are the rarest I would say.. after that it's just variants or the odd figure per line... there's usually 1-2 that are more rare and cost more then the rest

LUCKYDUBE 01-30-2011 02:53 PM

Phew! That's a long list! Thanks! Archangel and Havok are rare? I'm getting Havok next. And the Archangel variant. If I see it.

ALOPEZ527 01-31-2011 06:34 AM

world war hulk is two in a case captain marvel spiderwoman and doc samson harder to get

DrewBlank 01-31-2011 06:50 AM

If I were going to judge by Amazon.com prices, I would say (regular single packs only):

1) Vision
2) Warpath
3) Flaming Human Torch
4) Jean Grey
5) Bullseye
6) Moon Knight
7) Classic Ms. Marvel
8) Thing
9) Black Panther
10) Archangel variant

Those don't completely square with other sources, but it's something to think about, especially since Thanos sells for about $15 less than Warpath on there.

ALOPEZ527 01-31-2011 09:28 AM

bingo i would definately go with this. you would have to add daredevil though and the punisher with the white gloves. sunfire as well.

Not in my neck of the woods I've seen that whole wave severel times but never saw a WW Hulk in the wild.

cellardoor 01-31-2011 12:40 PM

Its gratifying to see that "first adopters" of this line are reaping the reward of buying those early figures as they seem to be the rarest. The white glove punisher is a pretty horrible sculpt but it's nice to know he has some value!

ALOPEZ527 01-31-2011 02:30 PM

wow I've seen an army of hulks by me. practically a planet hulk here but not anymore. seems that a lot of toy stores are having clearances

Ashrok 02-02-2011 11:31 AM

The Blue/Yellow Goliath is hard to find...and many think its the variant...but its the original. And I don't want to repeat but pretty much all the other posts are true as well.

behindthemask 02-02-2011 03:24 PM

basically the absolute toughest to find/most valuable are the digital comic mail in figures.. as they were limited run, then the collectors edition box set which had red skull! nearly impossible to find without buying the box set even on ebay. the larger figures skrull solider and goliath are hard to find/more expensive.. then it's just based off the line and area.. the real key is it rare to you.. some people have peg warms of wave I've never even seen and vise versa.. some figures are 1-2/case where others are 5-10/case.. so its up to you.. over time anything moc has the potential to be rare.

That's exactly why I started this thread. 'Cuz I heard from someone that Black Widow (non-variant.) is rare. And she's a shelfwarmer here.

behindthemask 02-02-2011 05:24 PM

well she kinda is... depending on which site u go on .. some charge more for certain figures due to the odds of finding them per case.. I found her.. but she was the last 1 when I got there. Distrubution and location are key factors in being rare.. if you live in a small area with 1-2 major retailers.. u get what you get without resorting to shopping online or getting independant retailer

brianregan09 02-02-2011 05:33 PM

We even got Black widow in Ireland lol

This one Target in town has a wall of Winter Soldiers. They have Winter Soldiers the way everyone else has Iron Man. If I knew why, I think I would be one step closer to mathematically unlocking the universe.

Maybe the energetic pull generated by the Winter Soldiers (Which I want) needs to be equally countered by another pull, such as the ones produced by the Black Widows or Iron Mans.

I have no idea of what I just said. :D

proteus 04-28-2011 04:40 PM

Guys just how rare is archangel?? Iv seen one locally, and im not fussed about him,is he something i could use to trade?? Would people want him?? Same goes for havok, there are im sure 5or6 of him sitting on the shelf in my local toystore.....

Also am i gonna have to shell out to get a warpath??whats the difference between the normal and the variant???

Ps. Sorry if these are already answered questions,im new to the MU figures, and trying to find my feet!!!

Dylan in Oregon 04-28-2011 04:57 PM

I've also seen an Archangel local, but I'd say he's solid trade fodder. As for that Warpath I found the variant local as well. I paid eight bucks for him but I know some paid a lot more. Now it seems like it's the original that's rare, but I think that'll change with the revision cases. I try to be pretty patient, though as I don't want to feel burned wallet-wise.

proteus 04-28-2011 05:06 PM

Thanks dylan!! Il definately pick archangel up,and il hang on for those revision case warpaths too!! Im gonna want a few for the larger scale body they have, great for building bulky heavy weapons type guys with!!

MasterSock 04-28-2011 05:38 PM

Warpath x force, regular vision, and flame on human torch.

Reaver Strike 04-28-2011 05:49 PM

If anyone is looking, I have a loose Thanos available and a MOC Warpath variant available.

Now that revision cases are hitting, I'm seeing a lot of figs that I didn't when they first hit.
