Awesome!!!

4" new cartoon accurate figures with Thundertank, or 8" old cartoon accurate figures? Arrrrggghhhhh!

nomad1632 01-31-2011 12:53 PM

Judging from the decriptions on BBTS (and what we heard before), the 4" and 6" are the new designs, and the 8" are the 80's style.

Seems like a bit of a dilemma to me - new style figures in scale with most of the other figures I own or classic style towering over everything else.

Evantainment 01-31-2011 01:46 PM

Right now I'm on board for the 4" set. Bring on the vehicles and playsets!

Da_Last_2_Walk 01-31-2011 02:00 PM

I might have to scoop this line up.

Shogi 01-31-2011 04:22 PM

I'm probably sold on the Mumm-Ra figures, the rest however, will have to be decided upon once we get more details like pictures and articulation

LUCKYDUBE 01-31-2011 04:44 PM

I've seen pics and Lion-O looks really young with short hair nothing like the 80's toon.

MegaPrime33 01-31-2011 05:21 PM

GRUNE!!! I am so down for this.

Here are some images from the new toy line. Included is one of the first looks (to my knowledge) of the updated Snarf, the 4" Lion-O figure, Thunder Tank vehicle for the 4" figures, 4" Deluxe Cheetara and Role-playing Sword of Omens.

Qcjoe 01-31-2011 07:00 PM

I cant wait to see the classics. I may be in with those.

metalalchemist 01-31-2011 08:19 PM

Anyone knows if the "sold apart" bikes are an accessory for the tank or will it contain its own bikes?

nomad1632 01-31-2011 08:21 PM

looks like the figure images are of the 6 to 8 inch figures which is cool Im just excited to see the 4 inch ones though and that thundertank looks sick

Cheetara is the 8 inch figure.

Snowflakian 01-31-2011 09:48 PM

I love it! Though it's not going to be friendly on the wallet for that thundertank since you need the two bikes to complete it. =/ Oh wells. Guess I better get my butt and get the tron light cycles now then before I have to plunk down on this greatness.

The 6'' are show, the 8'' are classic.
These could be the 4'' though with the simplicity to articulation and detailing. For 6'' that's lacking some detail. Plus it's in bandai's best interest to show off the 4'' for the thundertank.

6'' Lion-o at least, has the glove, short and long sword, which this doesn't. So I lean he's at least 4''. Cheetara can go either way, but the v-cut makes me think she's 4'' too. The 6'' have more accessories, the 4'' only have one like these reflect. The 8'' are classic thundercats. So none of what's shown is 8''.

Yup, cheetara is the 4''. There is no 6'' cheetara slated yet. Just compare to the listing above for proof.

Further proof, and preorders. http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=2569

Same pics as above, but has price and details for those figures. Bandai's announcement for Toy Fair 2011 reveal.

nightwing1589 02-01-2011 07:10 AM

The Sword of Omens is available now? Is that a mistake?

Joe Moore 02-01-2011 07:10 AM

Not digging the classics Cheetara at all. Hope they look better in person. The Lion-O isn't bad. The vehicle looks great.

Yeah, I was a little confused about that. It was reported as the 8" figure, but there is no 8" Cheetara listed in the case assortments. Then again, neither is the Sword of Omens, and here is proof that it exists. I also think that there is a ton of articulation present for a 4" figure from Bandai, which leads me to think that it is possibly the 8" figure, but it doesn't have the classic look (if classic is supposed to be the original series). That's why I went with 4" Deluxe. But I definitely could be wrong.

Lion-o isn't bad for a 4" figure, same style articulation and in scale with the current Bandai USA Power Rangers, so that's good for collectors of those.

Now with Cheetara...I actually think that's the 6" figure. I'm hoping the 8" figures have the same articulation if not more, than the 1st MMPR toys...THAT WOULD BE COOL! Those were some great action figures.

Snowflakian 02-01-2011 09:28 AM

That's definitely not classic cheetara, I heavily doubt it's even the 6'' one. Gotta be 4'' and the sword of omens has been announced for awhile too. Though knowing it's out on shelves now is neat. =D

The cheetara looks to be the same from the Uk toy fair pic, which were either four of the deluxe 4'', or four of the 6''. The NY Toy Fair will hopefully clarify this better.

Looks to be more articulated than Bandai USA's average 4" figure though...AFAIK they don't have thigh swivels.

i agree. it's gotta be the 4". and i strongly believe the figure shown at UK tf were 4". i was really hoping these would be better quality than the ben 10 toys. while they have more articulation the sculpting is still horsey. look at the size of lion-o's mits!

Joe Moore 02-01-2011 11:01 AM

The Cheetara, on the news release, as well as all sites that received it, was listed as the 8" Collector's Line Cheetara. The articulation is clearly different than Lion-O's, so it's not the same size class regardless.
