Thundercats Classics Lion-O

Bandai Releases Thundercats Classics Lion-O Image

Shin Densetsu 02-03-2011 12:16 PM

That looks surprisingly good! I like what Bandai USA did with the thigh swivels..never seen it done that way before!

MegaPrime33 02-03-2011 12:35 PM

Definitely looks good. I'm excited for this line.

soundwavempl 02-03-2011 12:38 PM

That looks really good. I'm definitely getting the Thundercats Classics line if they look like this. Good Job Bandai!

trebleshot 02-03-2011 02:54 PM

Damn, the Sword of Omens looks huge. I wonder if it comes with a smaller version that fits in that scabbard?

Either way, looking nice!

i read on another site he will come with a smaller version as well. the face sculpt looks fantastic and the hair ALMOST looks as if it's made from semi transparent abs. that would be soooo awesome if true

MegaPrime33 02-03-2011 04:02 PM

I wonder if Lion O and Mumm Ra will have the light up feature.

Shin Densetsu 02-03-2011 04:04 PM

BTW folks if these turn out anything like the Ultimate Muscle figures by Bandai USA from 2002, they will KICK ASS! Those were some high quality figures.

Da_Last_2_Walk 02-03-2011 04:32 PM

I like this line more, every time I see a new picture!

Greylight 02-03-2011 09:41 PM

Wow. This is a Bandai figure?! I was certainly expecting MUCH worse than this. Not bad at all. My excitement for this line just doubled. I hope the 6 inch "new series" line is as good as this.

I can't figure out the thigh swivels...what are you seeing? I don't see bicep swivels, and it doesn't look as if the swivel is at the elbow...so are the arms molded inward/sideways?

sabretoothe 02-04-2011 12:23 AM

it's got'em.

The cut for the thigh swivel is just below his trunks. But instead of being a straight cut like we usually see, the cut is shaped to the contours of his thigh muscles. It's easier to spot the line break on his right thigh if you zoom in on the photo.

jonnyquest2223 02-04-2011 07:43 AM

that is a really sweet figure. ill totally be picking this line up

Snowflakian 02-04-2011 07:55 AM

Now that's what a classic figure should look like. =D Extremely sweet, and should fit right in with MOTUC. I'm still probably only going to stick to the new ones though. lol

Are MOTUC 8" scale?

No, they are 6" scale.

mbm1976 02-04-2011 10:07 AM

So where is this high demand for 8" figures? Nowhere! It doesn't exist! We want 7" and 6" figures that fit in with our 7" and 6" figures. These companies need to stop trying to be "innovative" and just deliver what they already know the consumers want. And what they don't want is a Lion-O over an inch taller than Classics He-Man. Get a clue already.

mbm1976 02-04-2011 10:09 AM

You all won't like it when you get it in person and it looks like a big chunky 80's WWF figure standing over all your other toys looking out of place.

What does Thundercats have to do with He-Man? Why would Bandai care if its toys fits in with a rival toy companies figures?

Exactly. Thundercats is not a Mattel property like MOTU.

And even so, He-Man and Lion-O haven't appeared together in any media that I'm aware of, so who's to say that the Thundarians aren't bigger than the Eternians?

Joe Moore 02-04-2011 11:54 AM

Well, they have crossed over with Superman...But now I'm just making things more difficult. :D

sabretoothe 02-04-2011 12:22 PM

i think thundercats can get away being bigger....they are called "THUNDERCATS"

MegaPrime33 02-04-2011 12:27 PM

I wonder what Superman thought of the berbils.

Greaaaat. Coupled with the fact that Superman and He-Man have already done a crossover...

....thanks a lot, Joe. :P

Probably thought it was a trick by Mr. Mxyzptlk and tried to get them to say "Libreb" out loud.

Yeah but being aliens from another world, a little bit of towering doesn't bother me if I decide to get a lion-o to go with king greyskull, she-ra, and hordak.
