I want custom Marty McFly and Doc Brown figures made from 25th Joes to put in the car. :)

Joe Moore 03-05-2009 08:21 AM

I'd love to see more pics of this thing.

trebleshot 03-05-2009 11:01 AM

I hope the flux capacitor and what not actually light up like the pic and it's not just a Photoshop job.

Nightwing 03-05-2009 02:47 PM

Thanks for the news. I just pre-ordered one. I didn't realize that this version was going to be an exclusive.

Shin Densetsu 03-05-2009 02:47 PM

Holy crap I had no idea there was a toy being made of this!

marshall dusty 03-05-2009 04:49 PM

wait...exclusive? doesn't BBTS.com also have the listing? It's a dollar cheaper...and predicted release is july of 09 and not august....am i missing something?

BBTS has the Delorean from the first Back To The Future movie which will be available to anyone who sells Diamond Select products.

The exclusive one over at Entertainment Earth is from Back To the Futre II.

No, the listing on BigBadToyStore doesn't have the hover wheels. It's just a earthbound time-traveling DeLoreon. What makes the EE version exclusive are the wheels being able to get in the hovering position.

EDIT: Nightwing beat me to it, darn you. :)

Hover-conversion and Mr. Fusion beat driving on the ground in traffic and having to pay for, steal, or cheat someone out of plutonium any day.

That's why I have already placed my pre-order for it.

marshall dusty 03-05-2009 10:06 PM

Oooh. I see. Cool thanks! Hopefully, i didn't mean to come out like a DB.
thanks all

megatronkicksas 03-08-2009 12:12 PM

This is the definition of epic.

MegaPrime33 03-09-2009 07:31 AM

You know, for me it begs the question of which is better, BTTF 1 delorean, or 2?

I have one of these, just no lights, the wheels flip out and has the coversion. got it a few years ago, this just seems like an update to me with lights.

Though I must say, I am very tempted if it lights up. And if you tell me that I can light up the flux capacitor, I will buy it immediately :)

I have been pondering this kind of custom, as I have tons of 1/18, I want to have a Bo and Luke for my general Lee...Now that I think of it, a Burt Reynolds fig for my Bandit Trans Am (Turd Ferguson would work, too), A Hasselhoff for my original KITT and a new Micheal Knight for my Custom KITT GT500KR...Someday...

I got my setup back up today for the Inferno gallery I did, so I can have some pics of mine tomorrow.

The pic is the same I have: (yes pic is from ebay, but same car and box mine came in. Goodness knows where the box is, but I have the Delorean in a case, so I will have some pics tomorrow :)

Edit: I guess you could say this car is from the first movie when Doc comes back to get them at the end with the hover conversion, but it is still the same.

Unfortunately I believe that these new DeLoreans by Diamond Select will be made out of plastic instead of die-cast metal like the Sun Star one you have pictured. The lights and sounds that come with these new Diamond Select versions are a great selling point for me, and yes I've heard that the Flux Compasitor will light up. Check out the video at BTTF.com.

I do like the old 1:18 scale Sun Star versions. As far as I know they made 6 DeLoreans. 4 of them are from the Back To The Future movies, and the other 2 are modeled after the real ones that were for sale. Here is a list of them...

Back To The Future DeLorean (with lighting rod hook and plutonium chamber)
Back To The Future II DeLorean (with Mr. Fusion and hover-conversion)
Back To The Future III DeLorean (with white-wall tires and 1955 time circuits attached to the hood)
Back To The Future III DeLorean (same as the one above only this time with train wheels on a railroad track)

1981 DeLorean DMC 12 (Stainless Steel finish)
1981 DeLorean DMC 12 (Gold finish)

I don't have any of the movie versions. I only own the last 2 listed above.

Another company named Welly made some 1:24 scale DeLoreans. There are 4 in total, 1 from each movie and the other one is just a regular DeLorean. I have all 4 of these. I would like to pick up the rest of the Sun Star DeLoreans but they are a bit expensive.

I'm really looking foward to the Entertainment Earth exclusive Back To The Future II Delorean by Diamond Select. I couldn't pass up a light up Delorean with sounds from the movie, especially one that can "fly"!

"If you're going to build a time machine out of a car, why not do it with some style?"

Optimus Scourge 03-10-2009 09:04 AM

Thanks for the info, Nightwing!
