MU Custom (What If...) X-Force Magneto
 

Thought it would be cool to take the current MU Magneto and do something with it to give it some life. Just a simple re-paint and thats it.

Added a little touch up to the eyes to make him look more menacing.

I modified him a bit. I added shadows to his helmet. I like it better this way.

Man that looks pretty F**king sweet!! Great work!!!

I'm really not fond of the silver and black x-force decos. Like, at all. Because to me they just look really dull, boting, and forgetable.

However, it *really* pops for Magneto, and given his powers makes a lot more sense than his classic red and purple. (Since it makes him look like he's covered in metal, and all.)
Also really really love that shadow you added on his face. it *really* looks great, especially with that deco. (Not so sure it'd work on the normal colors, sadly).

Really? The whole point is for them to be somewhat stealthy/easy to forget and the dark colors very much fit the tone of the book. At least they all look like a team unlike most comic book teams. You imagine it could actually be worn in the real world. But hey, I've always liked the X-Force uniforms and when the X-Men are all in Blue/Gold.

So I take it that some of you are not raider fans (silver and black) lol, j/k. Thanks for the comments guys. I agree that black and silver is not at all stealthy, I like the color mix for this version of the x force team since they were done that way. I'm trying to keep the cyclops x force team black and silver and uncanny grey and black. I think the silver look works better for magneto though.

Well, yeah, I know that's the intent. The problem however is the fact that Silver and white are by no means stealthy.
T'would be one thing if they were understated, and existed only to highlight the costumes and make them a little more lively, but Deadpool and whoever the trenchcoat guy' costumes are predominantly white. Deadpool's normal costume is far more stealthy.
And Wolverine and Archangel, 50% of their costumes are made of of bright and shiney silver. (Ignoring Archangel's wings).
It just doesn't work as stealth.

Deadpool is gray though, not white and Fantomex at least wears a mask. It works better in the issues where it is drawn dull gray (pretty much all of Uncanny X-Force) and not shiny silver. I don't see how bright red is less noticeable than dull silver.

Anyway, I think it is more about not being distinct. When the CIA sends in strike teams they are wearing basic tac gear that anyone might use, no identifying marks. Makes it harder to identify a team wearing plan gray/black since they could be anyone and this the next best thing after gas masks and body armor. I have more problem with them sporting the big red X symbol. I know from an art design standpoint you want that but it's a dead giveaway for the X-Men. And the whole point was to keep the X-Men out of it entirely.

NFL team. The Oakland Raiders. They wear silver and black.

Also I appreciate the comments but keep the whole what works and what doesn't work in a covert team discussion in another thread.
