Want Comparison shots of MU HULK and SHS HULK
Hey,
Does anybody out there have a superhero showdown Hulk and the New Marvel Universe Hulk and want to take some comparison pics for your buddys here at the ark? Post 'em on up there and lets all take a look, ya? Sound good? Lets do it. |
I only have the New MU Hulk, because who knew the economy was going to suck all collectors into 3.75 inch figures. My marvel legends morn their unmade brothers and sisters, but it is nice to not have to spend 16.00 on one legend, and collect 9 legends to get the only character you really wanted. End the Build a figure nightmare! When Hasbro releases the bigger characters that are in scale later this year, (like the long awaited - fan favorite - everybody is gonna be fighting over these- SENTINEL figure),
those figures are gonna fly off the shelves at whatever price. HASBRO IF YOUR OUT THERE... PLEASE BRING BACK SMALL SETS OF LANDSCAPE/BASES WITH THE FIGURES LIKE THE ORIGINAL FIRST FEW SERIES OF MARVEL LEGENDS DONE BY TOYBIZ. CALL THEM BASES, MAKE THEM HOLLOW HARD PLASTIC AND PACK THEM WITH THE 3.75 INCH FIGURES! NOW THAT ALL OF OUR WORLDS ARE IN THE SAME SIZE RATIO, PLEASE GIVE US SOME MATERIAL TO BUILD DIORAMAS! THIS WOULD BE UNIVERSALLY GOOD FOR ALL OF YOUR 3.75 INCH LINES. SOME DANGER ROOM PARTS WOULD LOOK GREAT WITH MY LUKE AND VADER FIGURES! |

Hip articulation is far better on the SHS version, the MU version doesn't have hips that can be called functional. Quality wise, the MU version is much more sturdy with less gaps between the joints. |
Hi Shin,
Which one is taller? I ur O? |
anybody else out there got some pics???

I just use the Incredible Hulk movie figures. They are perfect scale for the MU figures. In the movie people came a little above the Hulk's waist and the MU come to the same.
|
Thanks guys.

Lack of moving hips on the new Hulk figures makes me a sad panda, and it looks like the Thing is going to have the same problem, WTF Hasbro?!?
|
nobody has any pics??? now i'm a sad panda...

I saw this thread this morning and thought I'd run down to my local comic shop and buy some Super-Hero Showdown figures. They've been in the same spot for years and last week I almost bought a Captain America on impulse.
They still had Beast, Thor and some others, but Captain America was gone and there were some other empty pegs. No Hulk, though. I've been playing with my MU Hulks and they're posable enough for me with the hips they have. It's not like the Hulk needs to fit in a vehicle. However, I can see where someone would be unhappy. I did pick up a SHS Punisher at Tuesday Morning last week for cheap. Does anyone know of any other non-comic book stores that still might have Super-Hero Showdown on the shelves? |
Drew,
I know ur in Kentucky, but in Massachusetts we have a store called Newbury Comics. It's a music, toys, posters, pop culture buyfest with expensive prices that is regional to MA. Try stores like FYE, Spencer's gifts, and Marshalls. They will be cheap and covered in dust, but that is the only way outside of a comicbook shop to find them. If Kaybee toys still exsists around you try them too. Also the clearance area at ur local TRU might yeild something for you. Good luck bro. I'm having a devil of a time finding myself a DR. DOOM offline. Yeah I'm old school, I want to see the paint job in hand rather than guess from a jpg. |
I'M still dying to see a comparison shot of the two hulks if anyone out there has both and a camera....
|
If I find my SHS Hulk, I will post some pics tomorrow.
|
I will look for mine 2nite and try and post em 2morrow

Seriously, walk down a dollhouse aisle at a toy store, look at the build your own dollhouse sets for girls, now imagine if that was expanded to MU with streets and city blocks, and more. |
That's a really good idea Snowflakian. You've posted about this before. I know the cube dollhouse pieces you're talking about and I think that they could easily be implemented to coincide with all of Hasbro's lines, especially MU. Hopefully they'll start doing this soon.
I personally use all my playsets from the 80's toy lines. They were made for figures around the 5" scale so they're actually sized perfectly for 3.75" figures. |
Just one little comparison pic, side by side, to see who is taller and better looking next to my Red Hulk. Thanks.

Thanks so much man.
|
no prob man!

A little late but here's a quick and dirty one of SHS next to RULK.
