UGH! Giant X-Men set as a TRU exclusive! They are going to overprice it like all their other exclusives.

Kluster Bombs 02-12-2011 12:21 PM

I can't wait for pics!

Snowflakian 02-12-2011 12:31 PM

So awesome, but could we get some clarity on the DarkHawk and X-23 variants?

As well as who else is in the fantastic 4 3 pack?

Such as? A single carded figure normally goes for $7.99 at TRU, which would be $24. Their three packs went for what $25? Maybe a little more? How is that overpriced? You need to expect to pay more for exclusives but TRU has not gouged us. Even $55 for a GIANT Galactus was fair.

On another note, I wonder if those X-Men figures are part of the MU line or if they'll be labeled as First Class?

sug2763 02-12-2011 01:30 PM

My local TRU sells their MU figs for $7.49, the lowest I've seen them in my area. Galactus was $49.99 which is also a decent price. Their 3 pack soldier exclusive, with SHIELD, Hydra and Hand Ninja, was a little over-priced at $24.99

ZeoVGM 02-12-2011 01:49 PM

Er, $7.49 x 3 = $23.70.

And you're saying $24.99 is overpriced? Seriously?

You're obviously going to pay more for an exclusive item. In this case it's $1.29.

Just wait for the obligatory sale in the fall. You'll get it cheaper then.

IIRC, it's not going on shelves until the fall anyway. Then soon after comes the christmas sales. So you should be able to pick it up for close to half towards 2/3rds whatever the regular price is.

Those 3-Packs for $25 really aren't that bad. The only thing I could argue is that the one pack with Yellow DD, White Surfer and Stealth Iron Man was $30. Maybe a little more. Granted, it had the silver "Only at TRU" sticker on the box, but still. That was the only pack I never bought for MU because it was just not worth it to me, IMO.

Word.

Autobot_Goldbug 02-12-2011 02:06 PM

True their MU stuff is decently priced but I am always expecting the worst when it comes to TRU exclusives.

Really? Why is that? I've never had any problem finding any of the TRU exclusive stuff that I wanted. It might have something to do with the area I live in, but I think TRU does a great job with distribution of their exclusives. It might be different where you are though.

Prime dude 02-12-2011 02:45 PM

YES! These are MINE

sug2763 02-12-2011 03:06 PM

My problem is mostly with the fact that the soldier pack is all just repaints of other figures. Nothing new or special to really make them "exclusive", IMO.

Yeah, but it is a great army builder pack.

ZeoVGM 02-12-2011 04:37 PM

I'll give my thoughts as I go through the pictures:

Disappointed that the 2-pack Wolverine and Deadpool figures are XMO ball joitned repaints. Silver Samurai and Taskmaster look amazing.

WOW. SENTINEL. Huge props to Hasbro, when they screw up it's minor. When they do well, they hit it out of the park. Would be nice to have a different Wolverine costume but whatever.

The X-Force figures are a nice addition, though again: XMO ball-jointed repaints of Wolverine and Deadpool.

The team packs look completely great. I'm loving the gold Mark I (I can stand ball joints more on robot characters -- it's humans that really look off to me) and that's the best "regular" Hulk so far. And of course, the Ant-Man addtion is nice. But it's those FF figures that I love. I'm trying to place exactly what costumes those are from but I know I've seen them. And H.E.R.B.I.E.! Awesome.

My TRU is in a very high traffic area. It was only pure luck that a local friend & I both found the Spidey & his Amazing Friends & troop set first before anyone else in the country.
MP Grimlock was there for maybe a week & they were all out.
Forget about Star Wars exclusives unless they have lots.
Maybe I am panicking for nothing.

Snowflakian 02-12-2011 05:46 PM

Sue Storm looks amazing! So buying that 3 pack for her, Reed, and Herbie. Will sell that thing though.

So far, I'm loving the reveals. Will definitely have to get that X-Force pack too that's using the XMO:W astonishing Wolverine. Just wish I could see the DarkHawk and X-23 figures though T_T Them and Commander Rogers have got me the most hyped.

Now if only they'd do that exact wolverine with masked head in the normal Astonishing colors, and I'd be all set.

topnotch97 02-12-2011 07:12 PM

so these are for 2011 to 2012?

sweet

time to get back to the MU game

All of those figures scream perfection. Even the two packs are amazing.

Everything must be mine

Tarquinius 02-12-2011 07:29 PM

And of course if you back up you can see the Thor/Cap/etc images. Warriors Three and that Cap Tank thing look awesome. Marvelousnews also has a pic of what looks to be the Shield Car....

Ash from Carolina 02-12-2011 07:34 PM

The value of an exclusive multi-pack seems to be proportional to how much you want all of the figures in the pack. If you only wanted two out of three figures it seems like a bad deal. If you want all three like I did with the Spiderman and his Amazing Friends pack then it seems almost cheap because you tracked down all the figures at once with no worries of having to result to a scalper for the member of the team you missed.

Snowflakian 02-12-2011 07:37 PM

Holy crap that Darkhawk, and X-23 are just freaking beautiful!!!!

Definitely can't wait to get my hands on these upcoming two waves. Too much awesomeness. Hasbro, just direct send them to my house kthx, I'll ship you my wallet.

That's not the shield car, that's the hummer from the norton hulk line, that was repainted for the ironman armored adventures line, again repainted for the IM2 line, now again repainted in war machine colors for the IM2 line.

More two packs though.

HOLY CRAP!!!!
Quicksilver vs Wonderman!!!!
Now all they need to do is Scarlet Witch and I'll have all my avengers wants done except for beast and Mockingbird. =D YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

ludovicotek 02-12-2011 08:33 PM

Snow, you're right about X-23 and Darkhawk. I'm super stoked about Dr. Strange, myself.

Snowflakian 02-12-2011 08:53 PM

I think I'm going to buy a US agent figure, just so I can give his shield to Steve Rogers, or buy two steve rogers so I can make a fighting American figure.

Seriously too much awesome. I was not expecting that wonderman either, but damn he's exactly what I wanted.
